Haruka: Great. It's a little chilly this morning, but it's really nice out.
Haruka: Let's go.
*Hurried Footsteps*

Haruka: Huff... Huff... Huff... Huff...

Shrine Grounds

*Hurried Footsteps*
Haruka: Phew... That felt good.
Haruka: (I'll do some stretches as usual here before heading back.)
???: Hello there, Haruka. As energetic as ever I see.
Haruka: Oh, Ms. Enomoto, good morning. You must be busy as well this time of year being a Shrine Maiden and all.
Enomoto: I could say the same for you. It's incredible how you go out for a run every morning despite it being so cold out.
Haruka: Actually, I really enjoy exercising like this.
Haruka: But it's almost New Year's Eve. I'm sure you've been getting a lot of people lately.
Enomoto: Yes, we have. We run ourselves ragged every year around this time to keep this place going.
Haruka: I can tell... But it's been getting very cold at night, so please make sure to keep warm.
Enomoto: Thank you! As busy as it gets, I actually have a lot of fun seeing all these people stop by to pray and make their wishes.
Enomoto: They're all trying to make their futures as bright and prosperous as possible, so I'd like to help them achieve their goals in whatever way I can.
Haruka: Hehe. That's so noble of you.
Haruka: (I was the recipient of that support a while back too...)
Haruka: (I remember visiting this shrine right after I became the lead for ASRUN...)
Haruka: (If I recall correctly, that was also when Ms. Enomoto came to talk to me.)
Haruka: (And I felt so much better after that little chat.)
Haruka: I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who are grateful for the support you're giving them...
Haruka: So I wish you the best this year.
Enomoto: Thank you very much, Haruka.
Haruka: Now, if you'll excuse me. Happy holidays.
*Hurried Footsteps*

Haruka's Room

Haruka: Phew... Showering right after a run always feels so good.
Haruka: We'll be discussing plans regarding our New Year's stream later tonight, so I think I'll try coming up with some ideas until...
*Notification*
Haruka: Hm? A message from Minori...?
Minori: <Haruka! Airi! Shizuku! I have some ideas for our New Year's stream!>
Haruka: Whoa, this is pretty long... Hehe. She came up with so many.
Haruka: <They all sound really good. Let's talk about which we can do tomorrow.>
*Tapping*
*Notification*
Minori: <Okay! Oh, I'd like to change subjects before I forget...>
Minori: <How about we all go visit a shrine together on New Year's?>
Haruka: Visit a shrine?
*Notification*
Minori: <We were so busy practicing for our New Year's stream last year that we didn't get a chance...>
Minori: <But we're doing it on the second this time, so I was thinking that we could all go on New Year's Day!>
Minori: <Would that be alright? Oh, but it's okay if you can't go!!!!>
*Bubble*
*Bubble*
*Bubble*
Haruka: Hehe. I keep forgetting how many stickers and stamps Minori has. I've never seen this one before... “Will you consider it?”
Haruka: <Sure, I should be free to go.>

Haruka: Hehe. Oh, Minori.
*Notification*
Haruka: Hey, that's great. Airi and Shizuku can go too.
Haruka: And I think I know just the shrine we can all go to...
Haruka: <I know a good shrine that we can visit.>
*Tapping*
*Notification*
Haruka: Hehe. We get to visit it together. I can't wait.
Haruka: (I know it won't be easy, but I really want to introduce them to Ms. Enomoto if possible...)
Haruka: (It'd be great to show her that we're all still trying our best as idols...)

Stage SEKAI

Airi: Alright, let's decide what we're gonna do for our New Year's stream on the second!
Rin: Okay!
Minori: Yeah, let's get started! I brought lots and lots of ideas with me!
KAITO: Miku and the others mentioned that you did a rehearsal together for last year's stream.
Miku: We sure did. We all practiced playing Karuta and Fukuwarai together!
Luka: Rin said that Shizuku's is really talented at Fukuwarai, so it'd be great to see you all play.
Shizuku: Oh, you would? Then, we might just have to play again.
MEIKO: I heard that your Karuta match turned into an exciting battle as well♪
Haruka: Yes, it was Minori and Miku versus Airi and Rin.
Minori: Yeah, I really didn't end up doing much that time... Airi and Miku pretty much got everything...
Len: Still, it sounds like you girls had a blast. What do you plan on doing this time?
Minori: About that! I think we should make our own mochi this year!
Rin: Make your own mochi?! That sounds amazing♪
KAITO: Hold on... Don't you need a mortar and mallet to make mochi? Where do we get those?
Airi: Right. Where, is a good question.
Airi: The garden at Shizuku's place would be perfect since it's pretty big, but we wouldn't want anybody figuring out where she lives so... I say we do something else.
Minori: B-But... Mochi!
Haruka: How about some calligraphy...? We can do that indoors just fine.
Shizuku: Yes, I see. All we would have to do is bring over our calligraphy sets.
Miku: I know! What if you give what you write to your fans as a little present?
Minori: That's a great idea! I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I won something like that...!
Airi: Hey, you have to make something too, you know?
Minori: *Gasp* R-Right!
Haruka: Haha... I never would've thought to give them out. Nice one, Miku. You really know what the fans want.
Miku: Hehe. Thanks!
Rin: Yeah, it is a good idea, but I still think playing Karuta would be really fun...!
Rin: Hey, why don't we play right now?!
Len: Rin, they're trying to have a serious meeting.
Haruka: Hehe... No, she's right. It was very exciting last time, so I'm sure our fans will enjoy seeing it again.
Shizuku: I agree! I want everybody to see just how good Airi is at Karuta♪
Minori: Okay! Wanna do a quick rehearsal?
Airi: Sure. I'll be the reader to kick things off!
Rin: Really?! Yay!! Thank you so much!!
Airi: We should separate anyone who's played before so... How about Miku, Minori, Len and KAITO versus Rin, Haruka, Luka and MEIKO? Sorry, Shizuku, you'll have to sit out this one.
Shizuku: Yes, that's alright with me.
Rin: Heh heh heh. There's no way I'm losing to you, Len, since I played last time!
Len: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever recall you actually winning after saying something like that...
KAITO: I can't wait to play. This'll be my first time trying my hand at Karuta.
Luka: I actually really like these kinds of games. Let's both give it our best, MEIKO!
MEIKO: Of course! Idols are all about explosiveness! Nobody can match my reflexes!
Minori: H-Haruka's on the other team...!
Haruka: Hehe. Good luck, Minori.
Shizuku: Have fun, everyone.
Miku: The cards are all set, Airi!
Airi: Thanks! Then, let's get started!!
Airi: “The autumn rice paddies...”
Miku: Got it!!
*Clap*
Minori: A-Already?! How?!
Len: That was so fast...! I couldn't even see what you just did, Miku.
Miku: Hehe. I just happened to remember that one, but I'm gonna get the next one too♪
Haruka: Is that so...? I'll just have to put my serious face on then.
Rin: Th-There's no way I'm gonna get any now...!
New Year's Eve

Haruka: Phew... I ran a pretty good time this morning.
Haruka: (We got a good plan together for our New Year's stream yesterday, so I might just head home and relax now.)
Haruka: (I'll take some time to look back on this past year and come up with some resolutions for the new year.)
*Rustle*
Haruka: Hm...? Who's that hunched over there...?
Enomoto: *Sob*...
Haruka: Ms. Enomoto?!
*Hurried Footsteps*
Haruka: Are you okay? Y-You look pale...!
Haruka: Please wait here! I'll head over to the shrine and find someone who can help!
*Hurried Footsteps*

Shrine Hall

Head Priest: Thank you for being so kind.
Haruka: It was nothing. More importantly, how's Ms. Enomoto doing...?
Head Priest: She appears to be running a fever, so we're having her head home for the day...
Haruka: A fever...? I didn't realize...
Shrine Maiden A: Is it true that Ms. Enomoto collapsed...?
Shrine Maiden B: What do we do? We're shorthanded this year as it is. We can't just replace her...
Head Priest: Quiet. We still have visitors on the grounds.
Shrine Maiden A: R-Right. I'm sorry...!
Haruka: You're shorthanded...?
Head Priest: Yes, we're always looking for help each year, but we're in some trouble this year... We have some part-timers and other extra hands helping out, but we can't replace someone like Enomoto...
Head Priest: There's no way we'll be able to find anyone who can fill her shoes, so we have no choice but to try and persevere somehow...
Haruka: Oh...
Haruka: (Ms. Enomoto was looking forward to welcoming in the new year so much...)
Enomoto: As busy as it gets, I actually have a lot of fun seeing all these people stop by to pray and make their wishes.
Enomoto: They're all trying to make their futures as bright and prosperous as possible, so I'd like to help them achieve their goals in whatever way I can.
Haruka: Um...
Haruka: Is it possible for me to help out somehow...?
Minori: What?! You can't make our shrine visit...?!
Haruka: No. This shrine maiden I know came down with a fever and no one at the shrine seemed to know what they'd do without her, so I decided to volunteer...
Haruka: As a result, I don't think I'll be able to make our shrine visit. I'm so sorry...
Minori: I-It's okay, really! I just thought it'd be nice if we could all go, but we can always go the next day if you're free!
Shizuku: That should work for us as well. Please, feel free to go and help.
Haruka: Thank you all so much.
Airi: And who said chivalry's dead? I mean, look at you. It's like you're doing this because you owe her a huge debt.
Haruka: Oh, actually... This happened a long time ago, but she was there to support me when I really needed it.
Haruka: I felt so lost then, but she was willing to hear me out and even gave me words of encouragement. So in a way, I do owe her quite a bit...
Shizuku: Haruka...
Minori: ...!
Minori: I'll help too, Haruka!
Haruka: What?
Minori: They're really shorthanded, right? I wanna help them too! If this shrine maiden really did help you, then I owe her a debt too!
Haruka: But I'm sure you and your family already have plans. Also, I really am just volunteering since high schoolers technically aren't supposed to work at night...
Minori: That's okay! My family always falls asleep before midnight!
Haruka: Th-That's not what I'm trying to say...
Shizuku: Then, why don't I help out as well...?
Haruka: You too, Shizuku...?
Shizuku: Shii's going to be at Ichika's house for a sleepover, and I've actually been wondering what it's like to be a shrine maiden for a little while now.
Haruka: Shizuku...
Airi: I'm with them. If it means helping out your shrine maiden friend and her shrine, why don't we all volunteer together?
Airi: We'd even be able to go through with our visit like we planned once our shift's over. Think of it as two birds with one stone!
Haruka: You guys...
Haruka: Thank you so much...

School SEKAI

Saki: Alright, everyone! Are you all ready for Ichi's New Year's sleepover party?!
Rin: Yeah! Totally☆ It's gonna be so much fun!
Len: But you can't actually stay at Ichi's house, Rin.
Rin: I know! But we can still have fun by chatting and stuff!
Honami: Hehe. I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about.
Shiho: That reminds me. We all went on a shrine visit together last year... Wanna do that again?
Ichika: Yeah, we should go since we're all here.
KAITO: Visiting a shrine...?
MEIKO: That sounds interesting, but there's going to be a lot of people there, right? I feel like we won't be able to do much.
Luka: You'd be surprised. Last year, we were able to pop out and draw some fortunes without anyone noticing.
Honami: Fortunes...
Miku: Hm? Honami?
Honami: I promise to do better this year...!!
Luka: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to reopen any old wounds...
Len: Huh? Do better? What are you guys talking about?
Shiho: Oh, Honami drew Luka's fortune for her last year and managed to draw a “great curse” and a “curse” for her in that order...
Honami: I'm going to draw a “great blessing” this year...!!
KAITO: That's quite a statement...
Saki: We believe in you, Hona! I'll make sure that some of my luck rubs off onto you!
Rin: Me too! Lady Luck's on your side!!
Len: I'll believe it when I see it.
Ichika: Hehe. I sense another fun New Year's awaiting us.
Street SEKAI

Crase Cafe

*Bell Ringing*
Kohane: Hello! Oh, you're all here already.
Miku: Hi, Kohane.
An: There you are! Come sit here!
Toya: You're here pretty late. Did something happen?
Kohane: Sorry for the wait. Cleaning our house took longer than expected.
Len: Oh, that's right! Doesn't your family need to clean too? I mean, you have a house and a cafe to worry about.
An: Despite how he looks, my dad's a huge neat freak. He actually started cleaning up the cafe a week ago.
An: So I didn't have to do a whole lot today as it turns out.
Akito: That's Ken for you. Unlike a certain someone.
An: Hey, I'm not some kind of slob! My room's all nice and tidy now!
Rin: Oh, we gave MEIKO's place a nice cleaning too. It's so shiny and sparkly now♪
KAITO: My back's still sore after helping out. We had to carry all the tables and chairs outside...
Luka: You're such a mean boss, MEIKO...
MEIKO: I let you laze around most of the time, so you both at least owed me this.
Miku: Anyway, are you guys here to practice today?
Kohane: Yeah! We're taking New Year's Day off, but we'll be back to practicing on the second!
An: I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing New Year's. A shrine visit and mochi soup included!
Kohane: Oh, that reminds me... Minori said that she's going to help out as a shrine maiden this year.
Rin: Who's Minori?
An: Kohane's friend. She's really nice and has amazing work ethic. She's even in an idol group with her friends.
Toya: Ah, her. She came to one of our practices to work on her singing.
An: But a shrine maiden...? Like part-time or something?
Kohane: I'm not sure about that, but she and her friends are apparently all going together to help out...
An: Really?! That means Haruka's gonna be there too!
Kohane: Yeah, I think you're right!
An: Cool... Hey, why don't we go and pay them a visit on New Year's Day?
Akito: Wait, us too...? Can't you go by yourself...?
An: Aww, don't be like that! It'll give us a chance to come up with some New Year's resolutions, so we should all go!
An: What do you say, Toya? How does a shrine visit together sound?
Toya: Visiting a shrine on New Year's Day...
Toya: We've gone as a family before, but I've never gone with just my friends. It'll be a new experience for me, so yes, I'd like to go.
Toya: How about you, Akito? That is, if you're not busy...
Akito: *Sigh* Fine, I'll go. I'd only end up stuffing my face in food if I were to stay home so...
An: Awesome! We're all set! We can all wake up early and head over together!

Emu: Oh! Me! Pick me!! I think we should all visit a shrine together!!
Tsukasa: What?! Where's this coming from?!
Emu: So I was talking to Honami the other day, and she told me about how she and her friends all visited a shrine together! I thought it'd be great if we went too♪
Miku: A shrine...! That's where everything goes JINGLE-JINGLE-CLANG-CLANG, right♪ Sounds like fun☆
Nene: Jingle-jingle...?
Rui: I believe she's referring to either the bell you ring when making a wish or the sound of drawing a fortune from an omikuji tube.
KAITO: Now that you mention it, none of you had a chance to go last year because you spent all your time discussing show ideas here.
Luka: Oh, really? In that case, why not go this year?
Rin: Oh, I wanna go too♪ Drawing fortunes sounds like fun!
Len: Me too! What about you, Luka? I mean, you were the one who suggested this...
Luka: No, I want to have a nice, relaxing New Year's where I do absolutely nothing.
MEIKO: Oh no you don't! You're coming with us! I'm not about to let you hibernate through the holidays!
Luka: Zzz...
MEIKO: H-Hey, wake up!
Rui: I should be free to go. How about the rest of you?
Tsukasa: Well, Saki said that she'll be staying over at Ichika's for New Year's, so we probably won't be visiting as a family until the evening...
Tsukasa: So I should be free to go around noon!
Emu: Yay!! Nene, what about you?!
Miku: How about it, Nene?!
Nene: I can go, but shrines get so crowded on New Year's Day...
Nene: ... Okay, fine, I'll go.
Emu: Yay!! Thank you so much!!
Miku: Yaaay!! We get to do a shrine show!!
Nene: What are you talking about...?
Rui: Yes, I see... Since we're all going, it'll be good to come up with some special effects to mark the occasion...
KAITO: Special effects for a shrine visit...?
Tsukasa: Hey! No weird gadgets or contraptions, alright?!

Kanade: Okay... Here are those chips that are supposed to be New-Year's-cuisine flavored.

Mafuyu: Okay.
Luka: Hehe. I have a feeling this is going to be a wonderful party.
Miku: Me too.
Rin: What are you all doing...?
Luka: Oh, Rin, there you are. We were just getting ready to have a party.
Rin: A party?
Mizuki: Yeah, a New Year's Eve Countdown Party! The one we did last year was super fun, so we decided to do one again this year♪
Ena: Lemme guess. You couldn't get tickets to the anime song countdown show again and didn't have anything else to do?
Mizuki: Wh-What are you talking about?! Don't be a party pooper, Ena.
Mizuki: But since we're all here, why don't we do some other New Year's stuff this year instead of just a countdown?
Kanade: Other New Year's stuff...?
Luka: Like eating mochi or visiting a shrine.
Ena: Oh, speaking of which, Airi just sent me this... <We're volunteering as shrine maidens at a local shrine.>
Mizuki: What?! Did she say, “We”...?! Do you know what this means?! Real-life idols dressed up as shrine maidens!
Miku: Mafuyu, why does Mizuki sound so excited...?
Mafuyu: Because Mizuki likes idols and shrine maidens?
Mizuki: MMJ dressed up as shrine maidens...! We've gotta see this!! How about it, you guys?!
Ena: Really? All of us...? I mean, I was sort of thinking about seeing how Airi's doing...
Mizuki: Hmm... Kanade, Mafuyu, what do you two think?
Mizuki: I get that leading with seeing idols dressed as shrine maidens wasn't great, but I do kinda want to visit a shrine together with you guys.
Kanade: It's cold, so I'd rather not go outside...
Ena: Actually, it's supposed to be warmer than usual that day, so it shouldn't be that bad.
Kanade: Oh, really?
Ena: Yeah. It's been pretty warm all winter, so we'll get an early taste of spring during the holidays. Which is why I'm thinking about going.
Kanade: I see... In that case, I might go...
Mizuki: Awesome!! How about you, Mafuyu? Do you think you can make it?
Mafuyu: I have to be with my family during the day...
Mafuyu: But I always have some free time at night, so I'll ask to see if they'll let me go...
Mizuki: ...!! Thanks, Mafuyu!!
Kanade: Hehe...

New Year's Eve - 9:00 pm

Shrine Hall

Haruka: Okay, everything seems to fit. How about the rest of you?
Minori: H-Haruka's dressed up as a shrine maiden...! I... I feel so blessed...!
Airi: Pull yourself together, Minori! You're a shrine maiden today, not a fan!
Shizuku: Yes, and the more experienced shrine maidens will be teaching us proper etiquette...
Veteran Shrine Maiden: Thank you for being so patient. We really appreciate you volunteering today in Enomoto's place.
Haruka: No, it's our pleasure. We feel like we owe her at least this, so thank you for having us.
Minori, Airi & Shizuku: Thank you for having us!
Veteran Shrine Maiden: Hehe. I was told that you're all very polite, but ladylike may be more fitting. Anyway, shall we start discussing etiquette and what you'll be doing?
Everyone: Yes, please!

Minori: Okay, so we welcome all the visitors by saying, “Thank you for visiting”... And when we're selling charms and stuff...
Airi: Minori, we don't “sell” anything. We “confer” them to others.
Minori: Oh, that's right! Because sharing a bit of the divine with everyone...!
Airi: Exactly. Charms and talismans, as well as divine blessings by extension, can be received at the reception building or “Juyosho”.
Shizuku: Hehe. It's so interesting how shrines have their own vocabulary.
Haruka: And we're supposed to treat money as “offerings”. It might take a while to get used to that.
Haruka: Also, do you all know what your assignments are...?
Minori: Yup! I'm helping with Omikuji!
Airi: I'll be at the reception with Minori, but helping with conferring charms and talismans instead.
Shizuku: I'll be helping with the sacred wine and amazake.
Haruka: Okay, sounds like we're all set. I'll be helping out as a guide for the visitors, so let me know if anything happens. That way, I'll be able to tell the shrine right away.
Haruka: Minori, Shizuku, your break starts at 4:00 am. Airi and I will take our break at 5:00 am. Also, it's already pretty cold out, so please make sure to stay warm. I wouldn't want us to come down with anything.
Minori: Right! Hehe... It's so nice having you as our leader, Haruka!
Haruka: What? I'm the leader?
Shizuku: Yes, you seem so on top of everything. The other shrine maiden even said that you'd be perfect as a guide and go-between for us. Doesn't that make you our leader by default?
Airi: She's right!
Haruka: Hehe. Thank you... I promise to do my best as your leader today.
Haruka: Thirty minutes until we start. We should probably head over to get ready.
Minori: Okay! Oh, look...! Some visitors are already waiting in line.
Shizuku: They're here so early. Maybe they want to be the first ones who make a wish?
Airi: If that's the case, they might be hoping for something really big!
Haruka: A big wish...?
Minori: Is everything okay, Haruka...?
Haruka: Oh, sorry. I spaced out a little while thinking about what happened when I was little.
Minori: When you were little...?
Haruka: When I initially decided that I wanted to become an idol.
Haruka: I came to this shrine fairly often back then hoping that my wish would come true.
Shizuku: Really?
Haruka: Yes. I made my decision to become an idol in the third grade and started running every morning.
Haruka: And I came here to wish that I'd become an idol someday.
Airi: Whoa...! But you're Haruka Kiritani. Everyone sees you as someone who can do anything all on their own. Not someone who prays for a gift from up above...
Haruka: Hehe. I get told that pretty often.
Haruka: Of course, I knew that I had to put in the effort to actually become an idol.
Haruka: But who you meet or what you do can also turn into lucky opportunities, no...?
Haruka: I realized that I couldn't control any of that, so I started coming here to hope that things would tilt my way.
Minori: And you ended up becoming the lead for a huge idol group...! That's Haruka Kiritani for you!
Airi: So you've had this razor-sharp focus ever since you were little?
Haruka: I wouldn't go quite that far. I can think of plenty of times when I was worried about what would happen moving forward.
Haruka: For example, I couldn't sleep at night after becoming the lead for ASRUN because I became so anxious.
Shizuku: I had no idea...
Minori: R-Really...?! That's happened to you too, Haruka...?!
Haruka: Yes. I was worried about whether or not I could fill those shoes and felt all this pressure to perform well...
Haruka: Then, I decided to come back to this shrine.
*Clap*
Haruka: ...
Haruka: *Sigh*
Haruka: (It's not working... Coming here always put me at ease before, but I can't shake these feelings this time...)
Haruka: (Our nationwide tour starts next week too... And I'm supposed to start appearing as a regular on that TV show...)
Haruka: (Do I really have what it takes to be the lead...?)
Shrine Maiden: E-Excuse me... Did you drop this handkerchief by chance?
Haruka: Huh? Oh... Yes, that's mine. Thank you very much.
Haruka: I think I dropped it after washing my hands. This handkerchief means quite a bit to me, so I really appreciate it.
Shrine Maiden: You're welcome. I'm just glad I could reunite it with its owner.
Haruka: Again, thank you very much. Now, if you'll excuse me.
*Footsteps*
Shrine Maiden: I'm sure your wish will come true...
Haruka: Huh...?
Shrine Maiden: I'm sorry. It just seemed like you had a lot on your mind while praying just now.
Shrine Maiden: I believe that those who are humble and earnest will be blessed. So please, don't think that you're all alone...
Haruka: ...!
Shrine Maiden: I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to pry... If you'll excuse me...
Haruka: I'm not alone...
Haruka: (I got so caught up in trying to meet our fans' expectations...)
Haruka: (But she's right. I'm not alone... I have ASRUN, and we're all in this together...)
Haruka: E-Excuse me...!
Shrine Maiden: Y-Yes...?
Haruka: Thank you very much... You were right. I was putting far too much pressure on myself.
Haruka: I promise to ask the others for help. I know I need to work with them more now.
Haruka: Also, if possible... Could you tell me your name?
Haruka: And that shrine maiden was Ms. Enomoto.
Haruka: What she said made me see things in a different light. She taught me that I just have to keep doing everything that's in my own power.
Minori: That's so beautiful....!
Airi: So that's what you meant by her “supporting” you. Now I understand.
Haruka: She really did. She even mentioned how she enjoys seeing everyone trying to make their futures as bright as possible...
Haruka: So I want to do that too. I want to help everyone out as much as I can today.
Shizuku: Then, why don't we all do that together? Let's do everything we can to make everybody's wishes come true.
Airi: Hehe. I wonder what they'll all be wishing for.
Minori: I can't wait to find out! Why don't we start heading over?
Haruka: Okay!

*Chattering*
Saki: We're here♪ Whoa, this place is packed!
Rin: <Yeah! Wow☆ I just caught a glimpse of a bunch of food stalls too!>
Len: <Rin, what are you doing?! You can't just pop out like that!>
Rin: <Ugh. They won't see me as long as I'm in her pocket!>
Ichika: Sorry, Rin. We'll try to find a place where you can have a better look, so just bear with us for a bit.
Shiho: Yeah...
Honami: Hm? Is something bothering you, Shiho?
Shiho: So, uh... Shizuku sent me a message saying that she's been volunteering as a shrine maiden here sometime tonight...
Ichika: S-She is? Shizuku as a shrine maiden?
Saki: Wait, won't this place get swarmed if people find out about that?
Shiho: No, she said she has a disguise ready to cover her face. I'm just worried about what would happen if she sees me...
Shizuku's Voice: Hm? I could've sworn that I heard Shii's voice just now...
Shiho: That voice...
Shiho: Back in line, you guys. Try to blend in...
Ichika: I feel like you should at least tell her you're here. Hm...?
Haruka: Hello, Hoshino, Tenma. Oh, Hinomori, Mochizuki, you're here as well.
Haruka: Thank you all for visiting.
Saki: No way! You're here too, Haruka?! You look adorable as a shrine maiden!
Honami: I agree! It suits you so well...! You look like a real shrine maiden...!
Haruka: Hehe. Thank you. Some things came up and we decided to lend this shrine a hand as MORE MORE JUMP!
Ichika: I had no idea...! Does that mean Minori and Momoi are here too?
Haruka: Yeah. They should be at reception right now. If you have some time to spare, why not go take a peek?
Saki: Airi's here too?! We've gotta see this...!
Ichika: Hehe. You really can't get enough of her, can you, Saki? I mean, you just got her autograph the other day.
Saki: I know, but I'm a huge fan! I watched the variety shows she was on all the time when I was in the hospital♪
Haruka: Hehe. That's great to hear.
Haruka: Why not go let them know that you're here? I'm sure they'll be happy to see some familiar faces. Also, Hinomori, Shizuku should be just over there.
Shiho: Okay...
Ichika: Thank you so much, Kiritani!
Haruka: You're welcome. Also, it's dark out, so please watch your step.
Reception

Saki: Let's see... Hey, there's Airi! She's the one selling charms and stuff!
Saki: I'm gonna go buy one!!
*Running*
Shiho: Wait, Saki, don't run like that...!
*Running*
Airi: Okay, a ceremonial arrow, a traffic-safety charm and a talisman. I believe that's everything...
Saki: Whoa, that was so fast...! She's a total pro!
Shiho: Yeah, it's like she knows exactly where everything is.
Airi: Alright, next up... Oh? Is that you, Tenma?
Saki: Y-Yes! You remember who I am, Airi?!
Airi: Of course! How can I forget?!
Saki: Oh wow...! I don't know what to say...!
Shiho: You went through the trouble of lining up, Saki. Why don't you get something?
Saki: Oh, you're right! I'll get... A charm for good health!
Airi: You got it. They're pink and really cute, just like you, Tenma.
Airi: And here you are! One charm for good health filled with some of Airi Momoi's love♪
Saki: Really?! Thank you so much! You're the best, Airi...!
Airi: You're welcome. I'd love to stay and chat, but we're pretty busy tonight.
Shiho: Thank you, Momoi. I hope you'll keep an eye on my sister during the new year as well...
Airi: Yes, of course! Speaking of which, have you seen Shizuku yet? I'm sure she'll be happy to see you.
Shiho: Uh... Well, I don't want to be a bother... But I guess I should if you insist...
Airi: Hehe. Good! And good luck with your band!
Saki & Shiho: Thank you!
Saki: We're back! Airi's seriously the best! I like her even more now!
Ichika: Hehe. Good for you, Saki. We still have some time, so why don't we draw some fortunes...?
Shiho: Good idea. It's probably gonna be really crowded later if we put it off.
Honami: Okay...!! Let's head over!!
Shiho: I don't think people usually get this worked up over Omikuji.
Ichika: It's like she's going into battle or something...
Honami: It should be... Oh, found it! Look, Hanasato's behind that counter.
Ichika: Really? Why don't we do our drawings there?
Rin: <Oh, I wanna see what I get! Can you draw mine for me, Hona?>
MEIKO: <I'd like to see as well! How about you, KAITO?>
KAITO: <I am a little curious...>
Len: <Wait, won't it be weird if you drew fortunes for six extra people?>
MEIKO: <Oh, he's right. Why don't we just have one collective drawing instead? How would you feel about that, Honami?>
Ichika: A-Are you sure...?
Honami: Yes, you can count on me! I promise to draw something good this time...!
*Running*
Ichika: I-I'm worried about Honami...
Miku: <So am I...>
Minori: Let's see...! #39! Here's your fortune. Next please.
Honami: Good evening, Hanasato...
Minori: Hi, Honami! What a nice coincidence!
Minori: Alright, here's the Omikuji tube! I recommend shaking it a few times before drawing anything out.
Honami: Okay... Here goes nothing!
*Rustling*
Minori: (H-Honami has such a stern look on her face! I don't think I've seen anyone take this so seriously...! Does she have a really big wish or something...?)
Honami: I'll take this one! Please!
Minori: Okay, lemme see! Uh... #66! That should be right over here!
Honami: No...!
Honami: A-Another “great curse”!! How?!
Minori: A... A “great curse”?!
Ichika: Oh, I knew this would happen...
Len: <Yeah, she's been jinxing it left and right...>
Minori: (Wh-What do I do...?! I need to cheer Honami up somehow...!)
Minori: Don't worry, Honami! You'll be rewarded as long as you keep trying your best! I'm sure of it!
Honami: H-Hanasato...
Minori: H-How about you do another drawing...?! You'd still, unfortunately, have to pay for it, but I'm sure it'll be better than your last one...!
Honami: That's a small price to pay... Okay, #34!
Minori: Alright, here you are!
Honami: A-Another “curse”...!!
Minori: No, that's a good thing! That means you're improving! I'm sure you'll do even better if you keep trying!
Honami: Yes, you're absolutely right! Again...!
Shiho: I don't think that's how these fortunes work...
Miku: <I doubt it too...>
Honami: I did it...! I got a “good blessing”! Hanasato, I finally got one!
Minori: C-Congratulations!! I knew you'd succeed as long as you kept trying!!
Saki: Hehe. Hona's happy, so it's all good♪
Shiho: Yeah, I guess you're right...
Honami: Thank you for waiting! I finally drew a “good blessing”!
Ichika: Hehe. I can see that. Oh...
*Ringing Bell*
Ichika: The bell... It's already past midnight.
Shiho: You're right. When did that happen...?
Honami: I-I'm so sorry... We missed our chance because I got so caught up in drawing a good fortune...
Saki: No problemo! We can just do it now. Ready...?
Everyone: Happy New Year!
Ichika: Now then, shall we go make our wishes?
Saki: Yeah! I'm gonna wish for a ton of stuff this year!!
*Running*
Haruka: Hehe...

Before dawn

Shrine Hall

Airi: Phew... Things are finally starting to calm down.
Haruka: Great work so far, Airi.
Haruka: Minori and Shizuku should be returning from their break soon, so let's take ours once they get back.
Airi: Sounds good. I just got a new heat pack out, but I still feel pretty chilly. It'll be nice to rest somewhere that's actually warm.
???: Haruka...!
Haruka: Huh? That voice...
An: Happy New Year, Haruka! Nice shrine maiden outfit! It looks great on you!
Kohane: Happy New Year, Haruka! Let's make this year a good one.
Haruka: An, Kohane...! I wasn't expecting to see you two here.
Kohane: Minori told me about how you'll be volunteering as a shrine maiden here.
Akito: I still can't believe that An's best friends with Haruka Kiritani...
Toya: I understand how you feel, but is it really that strange...?
Akito: I mean, she's someone you're supposed to see on TV and stuff instead of real like, you know?
Airi: Oh? Akito? Toya? You two are here too?
Akito: Hm? Momoi? What are you doing here?
Airi: Can't you tell? I'm a shine maiden! We're decided to help out by volunteering as a group.
Akito: As a group, huh...? Hm? That means Hanasato's here too, right...?
Airi: Oh, you know Minori? But you're spot on. She, Haruka, Shizuku and I are all in a group called MORE MORE JUMP!
Akito: Really...?
Haruka: Oh, An, I heard that you and your team gave Minori some pointers for singing at the Fan Festival.
An: Yeah, we did! Akito and Toya taught her a bunch of stuff.
Airi: I didn't know that. Thanks a bunch, you two!
Haruka: I'd like to thank you both as well. Minori said your advice helped quite a bit.
Akito: You're welcome. It was nothing, really.
Toya: Actually, teaching someone how to sing like that turned into a nice learning opportunity for us.
Haruka: Hehe. You guys sound just as passionate as An when it comes to singing. It's no wonder you're on the same team.
Kohane: By the way, where's Minori...?
Haruka: She's taking a break right now, but she should be back soon. Why don't you head over to the Omikuji booth later to let her know that you're here?
Kohane: Thanks, I will!
An: But first, let's go make our wishes!

*Rattling*
An: Alright, it's our turn! You guys know what you're wishing for?
Toya: Yes. I'm sure we'll all be wishing for the same thing... Hm?
*Hologram Appearing*
Len: <I wanna make a wish too!>
Rin: <Me too!>
Akito: Whoa, hold up. You guys can look around and stuff, but don't jump out like that. What if someone sees you?
Len vbs: <Okay!>
Miku: <Would it be alright if I made a wish as well...?>
Kohane: Oh, Miku! Would you like to join us?
Miku: <Hehe. I think we all should since we're here.>
An: Oh, we're up next! Ready, everyone?!
*Rattling*
*Clap*
Kohane: (I'm going to do everything I can to surpass RAD WEEKEND. Please keep watching over all of us...)
Haruka: (They all look so serious... I'm guessing their wish has to do with that one event.)
Haruka: Good luck, you guys...
An: Alright, our year's officially started! We just need to see Minori and it'll be mission accomplished!
Toya: Why don't we stop and take a break around here? Hm...? Looks like they're handing out amazake.
Kohane: Doesn't amazake have alcohol in it? Is it okay for us to drink that?
Toya: Yes. Some types of amazake are made like regular sake using sake yeast, while others are made from the remnants of the sake-making process.
Toya: The type of amazake that's handed out at shrines usually doesn't have any alcohol in it, so we should be fine.
An: Way to go, Toya! I never knew that!
Toya: I read it in a book.
Akito: Sake, huh...? That reminds me of the time MEIKO recommended whiskey to me.
An: What? Is that true, MEIKO?
*Hologram Appearing*
KAITO: <You didn't offer alcohol to a minor, did you?!>
Luka: <Wait, is that true? What kind of person are you?>
Kohane: Wah! KAITO?! Luka?!
MEIKO: <You're both getting the wrong idea. I didn't offer anything to him. That was entirely a story of “what if...?”>
Toya: So... Have anything to say, Akito?
Akito: Huh?
Toya: A minor drinking alcohol is a very serious crime...
Akito: I didn't drink anything! It turned out to be oolong tea!
Toya: In that case, thank goodness.
Kohane: Hehe...
Kohane: Oh...!
Minori: Alright, breaktime's over. Time to get back to work!!
Kohane: Minori's back from her break! She's supposed to be over at the Omikuji booth, so why don't we all head over there?
An: Yeah, let's go!
*Footsteps*
Kohane: Minori!
Minori: Hi, Kohane! I didn't know you were coming!
Minori: With all of Vivid BAD SQUAD too...!
An: Hi, Minori! It's pretty chilly out. I hope your shrine maiden outfit's keeping you warm.
Minori: It is! I even have hand warmers and heat packs to go along with it!
Minori: Also, how does a fortune drawing sound? It's calmed down quite a bit, so now's your best chance!
Toya: Fortunes as in Omikuji...? Sure, why not?
Akito: Yeah, it'll be a good test of luck. I'll give it a go too.
Minori: Great! We'll go one at a time!
An: Ready, guys? We'll open them on three, okay?
An: One, two...!
An: Yay! A “great blessing”!
Kohane: Really? That's great, An! Mine was a “blessing”.
Toya: I got a “good blessing”.
Akito: Hmm... Mine's a “minor blessing”...
Akito: A “blessing” and “minor blessing” aren't that different, right?
Toya: To be fair, most hierarchies naturally place “blessings” over “minor blessing”.
Minori: Oh, you can always draw another one if you're not happy with what you got!
Akito: Does anyone actually fall for that...?

Kohane: Hehe. These always have such interesting suggestions written in them too...
Kohane: Oh, like this one... “Follow your heart...”
An: “Follow your heart”...? So it's telling you to just do as you feel? That's pretty cool. It suits you perfectly, Kohane!
Akito: Follow your heart, huh...? Alright, how does practice sound after this?
Toya: Interesting. I was just thinking the same thing.
An: Haha! So much for our day off! We'd be back on schedule sooner than expected...
An: At the same time, I guess that's sort of how we are!
Kohane: Yeah!
Kohane: Let's make this year a good one, you guys!

Shrine Grounds

*Chattering*
*Chomping*
Children: Mommy, I'm scared! There's a weird monster running around!
Children: Wait, isn't that the thing that bites people's heads?!
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP...
*Chomp*
Robo-Nene: The children seem scared of Lion Dance Robot.
Rui: Unfortunately, it's natural for children to be scared since he looks like the actual thing.
Rui: I wouldn't want to traumatize any of them, so I may have to have him wait here with you, Robo-Nene. We'll find a better role for him in one of our shows.
Emu: That's too bad... Sorry, Lion Dance Robot, you're gonna have to wait here!
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP...
Nene: You seriously thought you could take him with you to the shrine...?
Tsukasa: Well, this is his time of year to shine... But we wouldn't want to cause a stir, so he'll just have to sit out this one.
Tsukasa: Anyway, let's head in!!
*Footsteps*
Haruka: Okay, that's it for my second break. I should be able to make it through to the evening now.
Haruka: Hm...? A dancing lion...? What's it doing over there...?
*Metal Clattering*
*Clapping*
Emu: Let's make lots and lots of people around the world smile!
*Hologram Appearing*
Miku: <Lots and lots and lots!>
Rin & Len: <Yeah, lots and lots!>
Nene: Aren't you supposed to say these kinds of wishes quietly? I guess it's too late now...
*Metal Clattering*
*Clapping*
Tsukasa: My shows are going to make the entire world smile ear to ear!!!!
Rui: That sounds more like a declaration than a wish.
KAITO: <Haha... I'd expect nothing less from Tsukasa.>
MEIKO: <Luka, wake up! You still need to make your wish!>
Luka: <Mhm... But I'm so full...>
MEIKO: <No, not that! Your New Year's wish!>
Emu: Alright, we all made our wishes! Next, we can do... Omikuji!!
Tsukasa: Ah, a test of luck to start off the year! Sounds good! Let's go!
Miku: <Yeah, let's go♪>
*Hurried Footsteps*
Nene: Tsukasa, wait! It's not safe to run!
KAITO: <Oh dear... I'm seeing quite a few people. Are you sure they won't see us? I feel like we should stay hidden for this part.>
Rui: Yes, I agree... Would you mind remaining on standby for now? Oh, why don't we draw some fortunes for you in your place?
KAITO: <Ah, that would be perfect! Thank you, Rui.>
Rui: You're very welcome. It's the least we can do for all of you.
Rui: Emu, would you kindly draw fortunes for the others in their stead?
Emu: For all of them? Okay, got it! Including me that's... Seven!

Emu: I got a “great blessing”!
Emu: Oh, I got another one! And another!! And another!! Wow, this one's a “great blessing” too!!
Tsukasa: H-How can anyone be this lucky...?!
Rui: Seven “great blessings” in a row. What are the odds? At this point, it may be better for Emu to draw our fortunes for us...
Nene: That'd completely defeat the purpose of coming here...
Emu: Hah hah hah! All “great blessings”!
Minori: Th-That's unbelievable, Emu...! Please try to share some of your luck with Honami if you can...!

Tsukasa: Alright, that's a “great blessing” for all of you... That just leaves...
???: Huh? Tsukasa, is that you...?
Tsukasa: Hm? Well, hello!!

Haruka: Huh...?! Was someone yelling just now...? Wait, what if it's an accident...?!
*Hurried Footsteps*

Tsukasa: It's wonderful to see you, Shizuku! How long has it been?!
Shizuku: I thought it was you, Tsukasa! It's been quite a while.
Emu: Oh wow! She's so pretty! Do you know her, Tsukasa?
Tsukasa: Yes, her name is Shizuku! She's Shiho's big sister, and we used to play at the park together when we were little!
Emu: What?! Shiho has a big sister?! I'm Emu Otori! It's super nice to meet you!
Shizuku: Oh, you know Shii? It's a pleasure to meet you. It's so nice to meet another one of her friends.
Haruka: Shizuku...! Wait, that voice... Huh? Otori?
Emu: Hi, Haruka! You're dressed as a shrine maiden too♪
Nene: Wait, Haruka...? As in Haruka Kiritani...? Sure, she looks a like her, but there's no way the real deal would be running around as a shrine maiden like this...
Haruka: Hello to you too. I heard someone yelling just now. Did something happen? Was there an accident...?
Emu: That was Tsukasa hitting a zillion decibels on the meter!
Tsukasa: Hey, you could at least use a real number, you know?!
Haruka: Oh, I see... I'm glad as long as it's nothing serious. Thank you for letting me know, Otori.
Haruka: Hold on... Are these the friends you've been telling me about? The ones from the Wonder Stage?
Emu: Yup! We all work super duper hard to make everyone smile♪
Haruka: Hehe. That's wonderful.
Haruka: Oh, where are my manners... Happy New Year. My name is Haruka Kiritani. I go to the same school as Otori.
Nene: I-It's really her...!
Shizuku: Oh... And the two with you are...
Rui: We met on that mountain sometime back. It's nice to see you again like this.
Shizuku: Kusanagi and Kamishiro, yes? I can't thank you enough for what you did for us then!
Tsukasa: Hm? Hold on... You already know each other?
Shizuku: We do! They were there to save us when my friends and I got lost during our picnic.
Tsukasa: Ah, that's right...! I remember hearing a story like that when we were chatting at the Wonder Stage!
Emu: That means you're both friends of Tsukasa's friend!
Nene: To be fair, we only met that one time. Also, I never would've expected to run into someone like Shizuku Hinomori while out hiking...
Haruka: But that's great to hear... Thank you for helping Shizuku out that time.
Nene: Y-You're welcome but... W-We really didn't do that much...
Rui: Hehe. Reality is stranger than fiction, no? Hm...?
Child: Waaah!
Emu: Oh no! I hear a little girl crying! I think she just tripped and fell down the stairs!
Haruka: That's awful...! We need to help them...!
Rui: Ah, would you mind leaving this to us...?
Haruka: Huh...?
Rui: Cheering up a crying child during New Year's is sort of our department, no?
Tsukasa: Yes, you definitely have a point...! Thankfully, she doesn't appear to be hurt. I believe we can take it from here!
Emu: Yeah!
*Footsteps*
Nene: H-Hey, wait! E-Excuse us, Hinomori... A-And Kiritani...!
*Hurried Footsteps*
Shizuku: Hehe. There they go... Tsukasa's friends seem like such wonderful people.
Child: Waaah!
Mother: There, there. That must've hurt so much... She won't stop crying... What should I do...?
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP CHOMP!
*Chomping*
Child: Huh?! Wh-What's that...?!
Mother: I-Is that a dancing lion...?
Emu: “A long, long time ago, a certain shrine was the home of a Lion Dance Robot!”
Shrine Visitors: Hm? What's going on? And what's a Lion Dance Robot?
Shrine Visitors: Is a show about to start?
Emu: “He loved children very much and wanted to make them smile, but they were all afraid of the way he looked and would run away every time he tried to go near them.”
Nene: “I heard that this dancing lion eats people!”
Rui: “What?! Everybody, run!”
*Hurried Footsteps*
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP...
*Chomp*
Emu: “However, somebody up above saw Lion Dance Robot's plight and decided to call out to him!”
Tsukasa: “Hah hah hah! Chin up, my friend! I shall bestow upon you the power to make others smile and laugh!”
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP?
Tsukasa: “Behold the power of the divine! Accept my gift!”
*Twinkling*
Lion Dance Robot: CHOMP...!!
Rui: Alright, it's time to unveil its newest gadget! Let's start with something traditional by tossing out some mochi for everyone!
*Clunk*
Child: Look, mochi! Mommy, the lion's giving us mochi!
Emu: Hey, she's smiling now! Yay! We did it!!
Rui: Hehe. That's not all Lion Dance Robot Beta can do. By attaching a kite to its head...
Nene: Hehe. I'm glad everything worked out. But the shrine might not be happy with us if we keep making such a big fuss...
Haruka: A show at a shrine...
Haruka: That reminds me... I remember hearing some people wishing to be able to make everybody smile.
Haruka: That must've been Otori and her friends...
