Asakawa Yuu (浅川 悠) is a voice actress from Tokyo, Japan. She provided the samples for Megurine Luka's voice. She is currently a freelancer.
Background[]
Yuu admits that she initially wasn't that interested in anime, however one day she felt that she wanted to become a seiyuu. After buying and reading a seiyuu magazine, she found out about Japan Narration Acting Institute (NichiNare), a voice actor training school affiliated with Arts Vision and applied for it. She then joined Arts Vision in 1996.
In 2009, she provided voice samples for Megurine Luka, a VOCALOID2 voicebank by Crypton Future Media.
On October 1, 2014, she left her agency to work as a freelancer.
She debuted as a voice actress in 1997 by voicing Rena in Those Who Hunt Elves 2.

One of her special skills is judo.
Yuu loves reading American comics.[1]
Yuu loves playing horror games, games that have blood and gore in them, and games with cute/hot guys. Some of her favorite game series are Resident Evil and Final Fantasy. She also has a Twitch channel where she frequently streams herself playing games.
Yuu is also a huge fan of Twisted Wonderland. Her favorite character is Jamil Viper, and she often posts the merchandise she owns of him on her Twitter.
Trivia[]
- Yuu was previously married with fellow seiyuu Morikubo Showtaro. She announced their marriage on February 22, 2007, and then their divorce on January 14, 2009.
- Yuu is skilled at linguistics and especially English. She started earnestly studying it in high school, and later went overseas to Australia in order to re-learn it, leading to her becoming near fluent.
