Side Story 1


Kamiyama Street
An: Kohane and I will be going that way, so we'll see you later!
Akito: See ya.
Main Street
Toya: Seems like Azusawa and Shiraishi are back to normal.
Toya: It looks like your talk with Shiraishi had an effect.
Akito: Maybe. Anyway, I knew those two were strong enough to weather this storm.
Toya: Maybe I needn't have worried.
Akito: I wouldn't band together with someone I didn't believe in.
Akito: An's got her eyes on beating RAD WEEKEND, and she's smart enough to understand how important your partners are for that.
Akito: No matter how good you are, you can't hit it off at an event if your team doesn't work like clockwork.
Toya: I guess that's why she was searching for someone to team up with for so long.
Akito: It was a surprise she'd pick someone like Kohane, though.
Akito: But that's her choice, and once you're a team, you take care of your teammates, I get that.
Toya: If you do, maybe you could've worded things differently when talking to her.
Akito: What do you mean? I said things as clearly as I could.
Toya: I guess...
Toya: Akito... Do you think it's been like that with us, too?
Akito: What are you talking about?
Toya: I just thought that maybe you understood Shiraishi's feelings right away because you've experienced that yourself.
Akito: Like how, are you saying I felt protective towards you?
Toya: Yeah.
Akito: Don't be dumb, I never did.
Akito: (As if Toya ever needed me to take him under my wing...)
Akito: (I approached him out of curiosity since he sounded pretty good.)
Akito: (Then I found out he wasn't just good. He was a natural, and had musical education and musical sense way out of my league.)
Akito: (I couldn't have hoped for a better partner if I was to realize my ambitions.)
Akito: (But I had to step up my game to keep up with him, so I practiced like nobody's business.)
Akito: (I couldn't have let the fact that I wasn't as talented stop me.)
Toya: Akito? Is something wrong?
Akito: No, I was just thinking about something.
Akito: On another note, we've got to figure out what we're going to do before the outdoor gig.
Toya: A month can go by really fast.
Akito: Yeah. We can't waste a day.
Akito: How about we check out the event schedule at a few clubs before we head home?
Toya: Sounds good.

Street SEKAI
Len: Akito and Toya are here! Hi, there! Are you going to MEIKO's cafe?
Akito: Nah, we've got a gig tonight, so we came over to kill time rehearsing.
Len: As it happens, I was also just going to practice!
Len: I know a good place. Want to come along?
Akito: Sure, why not. Where is it?
Len: It's my special secret spot for practicing! I normally keep it to myself, but I don't mind showing you.
Akito: Huh, color me interested. Toya, you okay with going with Len?
Toya: Yeah, sure.
Len: Okay, then! Follow me!
Len: By the way, isn't there something you want to tell me?
Akito: Huh? What's that all of a sudden?
Len: You know, isn't there something you'd like my advice on? Something on your mind?
Toya: No, not really...
Akito: Stop beating about the bush, Len.
Len: Oh, come on! I mean Kohane and An, obviously!
Akito: Ah, that.
Len: You can always talk to me when you're having problems with group members!
Toya: I see, you wanted us to rely on you.
Akito: I knew the girls would sort things out between themselves, so I wasn't really worried.
Len: Hmph. Really now?
Len: You sound almost exactly like Miku, you know.
Akito: What did she say?
Len: They'll sort it out between themselves. She pretended not to notice you guys were having a problem.
Akito: Really?
Len: She's cool that way.
Len: But I'm not like that. If someone's having a rough time, I want to offer help.
Toya: We're the same then.
Toya: I got so much help from my friends, that when they're having problems, I really want to do something for them.
Len: Yeah, that's exactly how I feel too.
Toya: I owe Akito the most, so I'm always thinking of how I could be of use to him.
Toya: But he's got it all together, so I never get any opportunities to help him with anything.
Akito: Hm?
Toya: On one hand, it's great that he's so independent, but a little frustrating at the same time.
Len: Hmm, I guess I see what you mean...
Akito: Toya, you can be so oblivious sometimes.
Akito: I rely on you a great deal.
Toya: You do?
Akito: Sure. There were a lot of things I couldn't do before we teamed up.
Akito: When I was by myself, there were a lot of things I just glossed over and tried to just force my way through.
Akito: But your musical sense made me realize that it wasn't good enough.
Toya: I see. So I did help you improve in some way.
Akito: If I didn't, we wouldn't be partners now.
Len: I noticed this about you, Akito, that sometimes you're so frank it takes everyone by surprise.
Akito: I don't see why it's so strange, I just speak my mind.
Akito: Anyway, we've been walking a while. Are we still not there, yet? How much longer is it?
Len: Huh?
Len: Oh no, we already passed it by!
Akito: Dude... Get it together.
Len: I'm really sorry! You've got a gig tonight and I ended up wasting your time... Let's backtrack a bit!
Toya: There's no rush, we still have plenty of time.
Akito: Yeah, it's no big deal. We can stick around a while longer.
