Side Story 1

Kohane's Room
Kohane: Let's see... I've got my indoor shoes, my pencil case, my student ID and...
Kohane: Okay...! That should be everything.
Kohane: Starting tomorrow, I'm a second-year...
Kohane: (But I still don't really feel like one.)
Kohane: (I also sort of forgot about school because of how we've started practicing with An's dad.)
Kohane: That reminds me. I should go over those things we talked about during practice today and...
Kohane: A call? Oh...!
Kohane: Hello? An?
An: <Hey, it's me! Is this Kohane I'm speaking to?>
Kohane: <Hehe. Yes, this is Kohane.>
An: <I felt like talking. Are you free right now?>
Kohane: <Yeah. I was just getting my things together for tomorrow.>
An: <Great! Actually, I should get home soon and start getting all my school stuff together too.>
Kohane: <You're still out?>
An: <I was practicing by myself a bit at Weekend Garage. I'm heading home right after I clean up here.>
An: <*Sigh* I still need to take a bath and have dinner, but I'm totally ready to fall asleep.>
Kohane: <I actually fell asleep for a second in the tub.>
An: <Haha. See what I mean? Still, we need to be careful so we don't catch a cold or anything.>
An: <Come to think of it, tomorrow might be kinda rough. The teachers are gonna get so mad if we fall asleep during the opening ceremony.>
Kohane: <It is supposed to officially mark the start of the new school year.>
Kohane: <But I still don't feel like a second-year...>
An: <Me neither.>
An: <It's been practice, practice, practice every day lately! I haven't really had time to think about anything else.>
An: <That being said, I'm super excited about my new class! I can't wait to see who's in it!>
Kohane: <Me too! Is there anyone you want to be your classmate?>
An: <Well... It'd be great to be classmates with Mizuki again since we get along so well.>
An: <Who else...? Hmm... You know what? Anyone's welcome in my book!>
Kohane: <It's just like you to say that.>
An: <What about you, Kohane? Is there anyone you wanna be classmates with?>
Kohane: <Me...? Maybe Shiho? We got to know each other well last year, and we can talk about music. I'd really like to be classmates with her again.>
Kohane: <Honami, Emu and Saki would also be nice since we were in the same group when we went to the Seaside School.>
An: <The Seaside School...? Oh, right. Your classes got all mixed up that time.>
Kohane: <Yeah. That's why it'd be nice to talk again as classmates.>
Kohane: <And then there's Ichika...>
An: <You have been singing and practicing together a lot.>
Kohane: <But we haven't really talked about much other than that...>
Kohane: <So, if we were to become classmates, we might get a chance to talk about stuff other than music.>
An: <Yeah, you'd definitely get more of those opportunities if you became her classmate.>
An: <You could ask to borrow her pens, have her show you her notes, see if she can give you a better explanation of what happened in class and stuff!>
An: <No, wait. You're the one explaining stuff to others most of the time, huh?>
Kohane: <But you're right about getting more opportunities to talk if we do become classmates, An.>
Kohane: <Still, what is my new class going to look like?>
An: <I really wanna know too. I'd probably end up lying awake thinking about that if I weren't so exhausted.>
Kohane: <Hehe. Me too.>
An: <Alright, I'm done cleaning up!>
An: <I'm glad we could talk, Kohane. Thanks for agreeing to chat so suddenly.>
Kohane: <No, I'm also really glad that we could talk.>
An: <Really? Thank goodness!>
An: <Anyway, let's both rest up so we don't fall asleep at our opening ceremonies tomorrow.>
Kohane: <Right. Good night.>
An: <Night!>
Kohane: (I was going to practice a little...)
Kohane: (But I am feeling pretty tired. I should probably go to bed instead.)
Kohane: (I get to see everyone at school tomorrow.)
Kohane: Hehe. I can't wait.

Side Story 2

Street SEKAI
Crase Cafe
Kohane: Hello.
Len: Hey, Kohane!
MEIKO: Welcome, Kohane. What can I get for you today?
Kohane: Umm... Oh, can I have what I tried the other day? A cafe au lait with honey and cinnamon powder on top?
MEIKO: Coming right up.
Rin: Kohane, come sit with us!
Kohane: Are you sure? Then, if you don't mind...
Len: So, are you guys not practicing today?
Kohane: No, we are in a little bit.
Kohane: But I decided to take a quick break since I had some time on my hands.
Len: Oh, okay!
Rin: Hey, your school already had its opening ceremony, right?
Kohane: Yeah, just the other day.
Rin: Then, you're officially a second-year now!
Rin: Have you noticed any changes? You're starting a new year with a new class and stuff, right?
Kohane: Aside from those two things...
Kohane: Oh, the first-years. I have juniors now.
Rin: Oh, right! They'll be looking up to you as their role model!
Kohane: Yeah, but I'm not sure how much I'll be talking to them since I'm not in any clubs...
Len: But that's still really cool! Do you think they're gonna call you by your last name or your first?
Kohane: Oh... Hehe. I'm not sure.
Kohane: During junior high school, I always felt a little anxious whenever my juniors called my name...
Rin: Really? But you're such a nice person, Kohane! I bet everyone's going to love you!
Kohane: You think so? That'd be nice.
Len: Can you tell us more about your school?!
Rin: I wanna know more too! What else has changed for you?
Kohane: What else? Uhh...
MEIKO: Settle down, you two. I know you're happy to see her again, but you shouldn't badger her like that.
Len & Rin: We know!
MEIKO: Do you...?
MEIKO: Anyway, Kohane, here's your cafe au lait.
Kohane: Thank you very much.
Kohane: Phew... Your coffee always has this way of putting my mind at ease, MEIKO.
MEIKO: Hehe. I'm glad to hear that.
Rin: Well? Did you think of anything else that's changed now that you're a second-year?
Len: Anything works! For example, stuff that's different now compared to before!
Rin: Exactly! You just mentioned what happened when you were in junior high! Tell us more about that!
Kohane: Now compared to back then...?
Kohane: Come to think of it, I wasn't so afraid of walking into my new classroom...
Rin: Your new classroom?
Kohane: Yeah, I always used to get really nervous whenever I was about to enter a new classroom for the first time...
Kohane: Mostly because everyone looks at you for a second after you open the door...
Kohane: I was afraid I wouldn't know what to say and worried I wouldn't be able to greet someone back if they tried to talk to me...
Rin: I see...
Kohane: But this time, I didn't feel worried or afraid at all.
Kohane: I always hesitated before, but I was able to say, "Good morning," to everyone pretty naturally.
Len: Hey, that means you've grown a lot!
MEIKO: In particular, your courage and confidence.
MEIKO: Otherwise, I doubt you would've been able to put on such a stellar performance as the opening act for your event.
Rin: Yeah! We're so proud of you, Kohane!
Kohane: Hehe.
Kohane: (I have started having a little more confidence in myself lately.)
Kohane: (But it's nice to hear others say that I've actually grown.)
Len: So, can you tell us more?!
Rin: Yeah, what else has happened?!
Kohane: Oh, sure. Anything in particular?
