Mafuyu: (Okay, the lyrics are pretty much done. All that's left is to fine-tune them...)
Mafuyu: Oh, it's almost midnight already...
Mafuyu: <I'm logging off for the night. I'll probably have the lyrics ready for you by tomorrow.>
Kanade: <Thanks. Good night, Yuki.>
Ena: <Oh, wait! Would you mind staying up until midnight?>
Mafuyu: <Why?>
Ena: <I should've known you'd ask why.>
Mizuki: <Once the clock strikes midnight, it's your birthday! We wanted to wish you happy birthday right on the dot.>
Mafuyu: <So that's why you were all online early.>
Ena: <Exactly. Hey, you could try sounding a little more excited, you know.>
Mafuyu: <The fact that it's my birthday doesn't make today any different. I think people at school might wish me a happy birthday though.>
Kanade: <Oh...>
Mafuyu: <What is it, K?>
Kanade: <Uh...it's nothing.>
Mizuki: <And while you guys were busy chatting, look, it's five seconds 'til midnight!>
Mizuki: <...two, one...zero! Happy birthday, Mafuyu♪>
Kanade & Ena: <Happy birthday!>
Mafuyu: <Thanks...>
Mafuyu: ...
Mafuyu: <Okay, I'm logging off now.>
Mizuki: <Alright. We'll put on a proper celebration for you another time!>
Ena: <Make sure you actually get some sleep tonight.>
Kanade: <Um...goodnight.>

Mafuyu: So, it's my birthday.
Mafuyu: I should get some sleep. Time to log out of Nightcord...

Mafuyu's Classmate B: Here, this is from us! They're lemon-flavored madeleines from the patisserie in front of the station! They're amazing!
Mafuyu: Thank you both! Oh, this is the place you told me about before, right? The one that went viral online?
Mafuyu's Classmate A: Yeah! We tried them ourselves before buying them, and there's no denying that they're good!
Mafuyu's Classmate B: Not only did we get to stuff ourselves there, but thanks to that we knew that these would be the perfect gift for you! Talk about a double win!
Mafuyu: Hehe, what a well-planned gift.
Junior Archery Club Members' Voices: Hey everyone! Asahina's already here!


Junior Archery Club Members: Oh, Asahina, happy birthday! We got you a gift!
Junior Archery Club Members: Um...please accept my birthday gift, too!
Mafuyu: Thank you all so much for coming all the way to the second years' classrooms, and thank you so much for these gifts.
Junior Archery Club Members: Our pleasure, Asahina! We'll see you at club after school!
Mafuyu: Okay, see you then.
Shizuku: Asahina, are you free to talk for a moment?
Mafuyu: Hinomori? Oh, and Hoshino and Mochizuki...
Shizuku: Since it's your birthday today, I invited them over so that we could all give you our presents at the same time.
Shizuku: I'll start. Please take this.
Mafuyu: Oh, they're gloves. Hehe, they look so thick and warm!
Shizuku: I thought you might need them since it's going to stay cold for a while. I hope they come in handy!

Kanade: <A while ago, Hoshino and Mochizuki reached out to me asking what kinds of food you like so they can get you a birthday present.>
Kanade: <I ended up saying that it's probably best to not get you anything food-related.>
Kanade: <Anyway, they seemed to understand it as your dedication to your physical fitness, given your commitment to archery...>
Kanade: <...but I just wanted to apologize for having said too much. I'm sorry.>
Mafuyu: Hoshino, Mochizuki, it sounds like you put so much effort into this.
Mafuyu: While I don't mind edible gifts, they disappear after I eat them, so I'm happy that I can keep this with me forever.
Ichika: Really? That's great to hear!
Honami: We should go thank Ms. Yoisaki, too!
Ichika: Yeah!
Mafuyu: I didn't expect to receive this many gifts. I should keep note of who gave me what before I forget—

Emu: Well! Since it's your birthday, I picked out the perfect short story that is sure to make you burst into laughter!
Mafuyu: A...story?
Emu: Yeah! Okay...here goes!
Emu: <This is the start of a new year! I can't wait to do lots of fun activities with my friends!>
Emu: <Oh! I got a New Year's greeting card! Let's see what it says...>
Emu: <Thanks for everything this year... Looking forward to what next year brings...?>
Emu: <Say what now?! The year's only just started y'know!>
Mafuyu: Hehe...
Emu: Eep...!
Mafuyu: I assume it was supposed to be "thanks for everything last year" and "looking forward to what this year brings?" Maybe they weren't paying much attention to what they were writing?
Emu: Hah...hahaha! Y-Yeah, that's probably what happened...
Mafuyu: Did you come up with that short story yourself, Otori?
Emu: N-No, I found it in a book at the library...
Emu: U-Um... Asahina, I want to wish you a very happy birthday!
Emu: I'll try my best to make you laugh next time! Please look forward to it!
Mafuyu: Hehe, okay then. Feel free to ask me whenever you like. And thank you for that birthday surprise.
Emu: *Gasp*

Mizuki: That's because there are other customers around.
Ena: But the noise makes it harder for others to overhear you. Plus, we got seats at the back, so you're less likely to be seen.
Luka: <Oh, in that case, we don't have to keep a low profile.>
Miku: <Thank you for inviting us.>
Kanade: Not at all. We all wanted to celebrate together.
Mizuki: Well, since you guys are all here now... Mafuyu, once again, happy birthday!
Everyone: Happy birthday!

Mizuki: The food's all here too! Let's eat♪ Mafuyu, tell me if there's anything you want, okay?

Ena: Kanade, you're a bit far from the french fries. Shall I get some for you?

Luka: <It's also time for us to dig into these treats you all brought us for this occasion.>

Kanade: By the way, Mafuyu. Was everything okay with Hoshino and Ms. Mochizuki?
Mafuyu: Yeah, they didn't mention anything about it.
Rin: <What are you guys talking about?>
Mafuyu: It's about my birthday present. Two juniors at my school asked Kanade what kind of things I like so they could get me a present.
Luka: <So in other words, Kanade gave them advice about you, right? And what did they get?>
Mafuyu: A snow globe. It was a deep sea-themed one and very pretty.
Ena: Hey, was it Ichika and Honami who got you that gift by any chance?
Mafuyu: Yeah... I also got a lot of gifts from the juniors from archery club.
Mafuyu: Speaking of juniors, Otori also tried to make me laugh by telling me a short story.
Mizuki: Oh! And what was the story about?
Miku: <I also want to hear it.>
Mafuyu: Okay then, I think it went like this...


Mizuki: Haha! They seriously wrote "thanks for everything this year" on a New Year's greeting card? That does sound like their brain was somewhere else.
Luka: <Hehe, I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people have done that before.>
MEIKO: <Mizuki, watch out for your drink. You might knock it over with your arm.>
Ena: I got the joke, but was it really funny enough to be flailing your arm around like that?
Rin: <I just thought it was a story about some careless mistake.>
Len: <I hope the person who made the mistake doesn't feel sad...>
Miku: <Yeah... I hope they're okay.>
Kanade: Um...well, it seems that the card really made its recipient laugh. If the sender only knew, I'm sure it'd make them happy.
Len: <Really? That's good to hear.>
Mafuyu: (Like Rin said earlier, it's a little noisy here...)
Mafuyu: (But...)
Kanade: Mafuyu? Is something the matter?
Mafuyu: Nothing...
Mafuyu: (For now... I guess I don't hate it.)
Akito: Happy birthday, Asahina. Ena may be quite a handful to deal with, but I hope your friendship with her continues to grow.
Emu: Asahina, happy birthday! I'll make sure to show you that book of short stories sometime! There are loads of good ones in there!
Honami: Happy birthday, Asahina. I'm so glad you liked the present we got you!
Ichika: It turns out we knew pretty much nothing about what you like or your hobbies... Next time we go out to eat together, let's talk about more than just music.
Shizuku: Hehe, that sounds lovely. Asahina, we only ever get to talk at archery club. How about we go get lunch together sometime so we can have a proper chat?
Ena: Mafuyu, happy birthday. You've become better at talking more openly about your feelings and I can see that you're putting in the effort.
Mizuki: Yeah! I know you've got a lot on your plate from school, but hit me up if you ever want to take a break! We'll accompany you anywhere and everywhere♪ Right, Kanade?
Kanade: Um... I'll try, as long as it doesn't involve any strenuous activities.
Kanade: Mafuyu. I promise to make a song that will save you.
Kanade: So, I look forward to you hearing it someday. Wishing you a happy birthday.


Mafuyu: How strange... I didn't really feel anything because it was my birthday. And yet...
Mafuyu: I don't know how to describe it...but it's not unpleasant.
Mafuyu: Thank you, everyone.
