Imai Fumiya (今井 文也) is a voice actor from Aomori Prefecture, Japan. He is Shinonome Akito's voice actor. He is currently affiliated with Rush Style.

Background

Fumiya had been watching anime from a young age and mentions being influenced by anime and other media - such as, him wanting to become an archaeologist studying Egypt and other ancient civilizations or an explorer due to Yu-Gi-Oh! and the 1999 American movie The Mummy. However, what made him decide to become a voice actor was the anime adaptation of CLANNAD, due to how much of an emotional impact it left on him.

Fumiya later graduated from Amusement Media Academy, and became a trainee at his current agency Rush Style in April 2018. He then debuted as a voice actor later the same year.

Akito is Fumiya's first singing role.

On October 10, 2023, Fumiya's agency announced that he was in poor health and had been hospitalized after it was discovered that he had inflammation in his internal organs. The agency announced his discharge from the hospital on October 18, 2023. On October 17, 2025, his agency announced that he was suffering from influenza and as such, had to step down from performing at Project SEKAI 5th Anniversary Thanks Festival. On October 22, 2025, he made his scheduled appearance in the 25th episode of Project SEKAI Broadcast Station, confirming he had mostly recovered.

Personality & Hobbies

Fumiya's hobbies are snowboarding, mahjong and darts. His special skills include speaking in the Tsugaru dialect and playing billiards. He also knows how to play the acoustic guitar. He is also interested in Western music, fashion and psychology, and enjoys shopping a lot. He hates ghosts and bugs, and dislikes seafood in general. He is also allergic to squid.

Fumiya is a big otaku and has mentioned that in the past, he was a fan of anime such as Oreimo, Sora no Otoshimono, and Haruhi Suzumiya. He has also mentioned that at one point of his life, he prioritized watching anime over playing video games or hanging out with his friends. In the same interview, he mentions that due to his appearance people don't initially believe it when he says he's an otaku.

• Fumiya loves drinking alcohol, at one point so much to the point where his doctor had tell him to hold off on drinking.

• Fumiya was the host of the radio show Imai Fumiya's NOW is the time (今井文也のNOW is the time), which ran for 8 episodes, as part of the MAN TWO MONTH RADIO project.
