Ishikawa Kaito (石川 界人) is a voice actor and singer from Tokyo, Japan. He is Genbu Asahi's voice actor.

He is currently affiliated with Stay Luck, where he was transferred to on February 1, 2022.[1]

Background[]

When Kaito was in fifth grade, he performed in a production Gamba no Bouken at a science society. Thanks to him accidentally striking a pose after falling off from the stage from being too excited, he was praised by his parents and teachers, which acted as a catalyst for Kaito's desire for acting.[2] In ninth grade, Kaito decided to join the drama club at his school at his friend's insistence. Because the other two guys at the club worked behind the scenes, he was the only actor in the club, which contributed to his desire to pursue acting professionally.

At one point, Kaito started watching late-night anime such as xxxHOLiC and Zero no Tsukaima, and he was particularly impressed by Sugita Tomokazu's voice acting in Kanon, Sousei no Aquarion and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and later on by Hirata Hiroaki's performance as Jack Sparrow's dub actor.

In high school, Kaito realized he wanted to become a seiyuu, but his parents were initially opposed to the idea. However, they eventually agreed, on the condition that he has to pay for the lessons on his own. As such, he used the money he had earned from his part-time job in order to attend Pro-Fit's voice actor training school when he was 16. He then graduated and became affiliated with them a year later. He debuted as a voice actor by voicing a side character in Ano Natsu de Matteru.

On March 1, 2014, Kaito was one of the winners of the Best Rookie Actor award at the 8th Seiyuu Awards. He later won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 14th Seiyuu Awards.

On July 22, 2022, it was announced that Kaito had been in close contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19, which led to him cancelling some of his live appearances. He resumed his activities after a short break.
