Wonderland SEKAI
Miku: Emu and the others seem to be working really hard!
Rin: Yeah. Their practices sound really tough, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how she plays Ushiwakamaru♪
Miku: Me too! Also, what do you think them doing a historical drama is gonna be like?
Miku: Are they gonna say things like, "Make way! Make way for the constabulary☆"...?
MEIKO: I don't think that's what their story's about...
Len: Hey, you guys, do you have a minute...?
KAITO: Hm? Is something the matter?
Len: I have a quick question since we're talking about these kinds of historical dramas...
Len: What if we did one together?
Miku: Us?
Len: Yeah. I sorta really want to now after hearing what Emu and the others are doing!
KAITO: Yes, I like your thinking! Count me in.
Luka: Hehe. Me too. It sounds like fun.
Miku: Alright, that settles that☆ Let's start by deciding what kind of story we're gonna do♪
Len: Awesome! Thanks, you guys!


Len: The samurai help people along the way and battle against the big, bad ogre... Sounds like a fun and exciting show!
Rin: Good luck as the hero, Len☆
Len: Thanks, but I'm gonna need to practice a lot!
KAITO: Then, let's start practicing our sword fighting.
KAITO: The three of us will be the ones primarily involved in those scenes, MEIKO, Len, so let's try practicing together.
Luka: Then, the rest of us will watch.
Len: Okay, I'll go grab the practice swords!
Len: "Hiyah!"
Miku: Woah!
KAITO: That last one felt very powerful. Your step and swing occurred simultaneously.
KAITO: It really felt like you could send the big, bad ogre's sword flying!
Len: Really? Thanks!
Luka: Hehe. Good for you, Len.
MEIKO: Next, KAITO, it's you and me! Which scene would you like to do?
KAITO: Well, how about the scene where my character comes face to face with the ogre for the very first time...?
KAITO: "..."
MEIKO: "..."
Rin: Wh-Whoa, this tension...
Len: Yeah, everything's at a standstill... This is nothing like the stunts and stuff we usually do...
Len: (And nothing like what I just did... Is this what a sword fight in a historical drama's supposed to feel like?)
Len: (I...)
Len: (I wanna learn how to do that.)


KAITO: Phew... Nice work. The tension we created was good, but I feel like we can make things feel more dynamic by using more space...
MEIKO: Agreed! Let's try doing that next!
Len: Uh, hey... MEIKO! KAITO!
KAITO: Hm? Is something wrong?
Len: Umm... That last fight... Can you guys show me how to do what you just did?
KAITO: How to do that...?
Len: Yeah! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time...
Len: That tension in the air. That sense of one false step and you're done for. You guys had my heart racing!
Len: I wanna learn how to do that.
KAITO: I see...
KAITO: But that won't be easy.
KAITO: Between staring your opponent down and making very subtle movements, many different techniques go into making a fight like this look real.
KAITO: Which includes how to properly swing a sword.
Len: Right... It did look really hard...
Len: But I still wanna try. I'm playing the lead, so I feel that I need to do my best...!
MEIKO: Alright, that's all I need to hear!
MEIKO: So, let's come up with a special training regimen for Len!
Rin: A special training regimen?
MEIKO: Yes! If he wants to learn how to put on a convincing sword fight, then he'll need to master the right etiquette and techniques!
MEIKO: But it's pretty boring work, so I hope you're prepared for that!
Len: Boring? What do you mean...?
MEIKO: For example, practicing your downswing over and over or learning how to change your stance based on what your opponent does. Also, meditating while sitting in the correct position!
MEIKO: As you get used to holding a sword and learn what to do during the periods of brief calm, your sword fighting skills should start naturally improving.
KAITO: Although, I feel that he should be allowed to sit however he wants when he meditates...
Rui: So, in order to make our dreams come true, let's make our play about Ushiwakamaru a good one.
Emu: Yeah!
Emu: Alright, let's all do some of those exercises again together!
Emu: Starting from the top of the Kijima Special! Sprinting at full speed! Let's go!
Len: (Emu and the others are doing their best right now, so I...)
Len: (I should also be doing what I can to put on the performances that I want!)
Len: I'll do it!
KAITO: What?
Len: If that'll help me put on calm but cool battles like you guys just did, I wanna do it!
KAITO: Len...
KAITO: Well, it might be good for us to learn and review all the fundamentals...
KAITO: So, I'll join you. Let's learn together...
Len: KAITO...!
Len: *Nod* Thanks!
MEIKO: Hehe. Then, let's get started and do what we can until our show!

Tsukasa: Len, everyone! Thank you for calling us over today!
Emu: You're playing the lead in your guys' show, right, Len? Break a leg!
Len: Thanks! I practiced a ton just for this day, so I hope you guys enjoy it!
Len: (Alright, time to go blow them away...!)
MEIKO: Hehe. You seem so excited, Len!
KAITO: I thought you might be nervous, but it looks like you'll be just fine.

KAITO: I'm glad you're the protagonist. Anyway, let's get started!
Narrator: "We find a kind boy working hard on his sword fighting skills, but his timid nature prevents him from improving."
Narrator: "Then, his older brother, a swordsman confident in his own skills, sees this and makes a declaration."
Big Brother: "That's it. We're going on a journey to defeat an ogre!"
Big Brother: "Rumor has it that there's one two villages over causing quite a bit of trouble. It'll be a great way to test our skills!"
Little Brother: "A-An ogre...? There's no way I can fight one!"
Big Brother: "Hey, you know you're never going to get stronger if you keep acting that way..."
Little Brother: "But!"
Narrator: "The young man tugs the boy along as they set off on their journey to defeat the ogre."
Narrator: "But when they arrive at the next village, they find themselves surrounded by bandits."
Tsukasa: This is bad!
Emu: That's a huge group of bandits...!
Bandit: "Put all your valuables on the ground and leave!"
Little Brother: "W-We're surrounded! What do we do...?!"
Big Brother: "We have to create our own exit...! Like this!"
Emu: Wow! He just took out all those bandits while dodging their attacks!
Rui: Hehe. That's quite the physical feat.
Little Brother: "Whoa...!"
Narrator: "Our two brothers continue their journey as the villagers thank them for their heroism along the way."
Narrator: "And the boy, who started out so timid, began to feel all this courage welling up inside of him."
Narrator: "Finally, they arrive at their destination. The mountain where the ogre is rumored to dwell..."
Burly Ogre: "Well met. I have been watching what you have both been doing from up here. You are heroes to those villagers, but do you have the skills to match...?"
Both Brothers: "..."
Tsukasa: She looks so powerful...
Nene: Yeah... She hasn't moved an inch, but she's exuding this terrifying aura...
Burly Ogre: "Hah! Looks like your bark was worse than your bite!"
Big Brother: "No! My sword...!"
Burly Ogre: "What hope do you have now that your sword is broken? Try this on for size!"
Big Brother: "Gwah!"
Emu: No, he lost!
Nene: He was so close to winning too. And then his sword broke...
Little Brother: "No...!"
Len: (This is my chance to shine. This is where the protagonist stops being a coward and works up the courage to fight.)
Burly Ogre: "Is it your turn now? Or do you plan on running and leaving your brother behind?"
Little Brother: "I..."
Little Brother: "I have to fight...!"
Little Brother: "I've spent my life until now watching my big brother become a strong swordsman! Now it's my turn!"
Len: (Now it's my turn to show everyone what I've been practicing!)
Len: (First, we stay completely silent in order to build up the anticipation. Give Tsukasa and the others a chance to get on the edge of their seats.)
Len: (Then, when MEIKO gives her signal...)
Len: (Now!)
Len: (Our swords clash and clang loudly! Okay, our audience is watching us very closely.)
Len: (MEIKO and I just need to keep this up and stay in lockstep with each other until the end!)
Big Brother & Burly Ogre: "...!"


Ten minutes later
Rui: Great show, everyone. That was an incredible display.
Miku: Thanks!
Emu: Especially your fight at the end, Len. You were so amazing!
Tsukasa: I agree. The way you kept barely dodging the ogre's attacks... I gulped each time you and MEIKO made a move!
Rui: I think we were all impressed considering how complicated that fight was. You must've practiced it quite a lot.
Len: Hehe. MEIKO and KAITO helped me a ton.
MEIKO: Hehe. Don't give us all the credit. I knew we could count on you as the lead.
MEIKO: I mean, our final showdown went as well as it did because you were able to move in perfect sync with me!
KAITO: You've been thanking us, but I believe our show succeeded in the end because you worked so hard.
Len: *Nod* Thanks...!
Len: (They counted on me to do my job as the lead. Hehe. That makes me really happy...)
Len: (I was worried at first whether I could do what I saw them do...)
Len: (The staredowns, the buildup of anticipation, the sense that it'll all be over in a split second...)
Len: (But I feel like our sword fight was something out of an actual historical drama.)
Len: (So, I should keep finding ways to grow like this...!)
