Side Story 1

One day during break
Kamiyama High School - Class 1-A
An: *Sigh*
An: Nothing's been going well lately...
An: (Especially during team practices when my mind gets so caught up in whatever this hazy feeling is...)
An: (Seriously, what is this thing?)
An: *Sigh*
An: I don't know why I'm feeling this either, but I'm guessing what just happened has something to do with it...

Kohane: ————! ——————!!
Kohane: ————! ————~~~!!
An: (This is nothing like her usual self. Did she just figure out how to commit to herself...?)
An: (I don't believe it. She changed that much in this little time...?)
Kohane: ——! ————!
An: This is the real Kohane...
An: (I'm glad Kohane's finally figured out how to have confidence in herself.)
An: (And I helped her reach that point...)

An: If you're still worried about what's gonna happen...
An: Just listen to what I'm about to say.
An: Let's believe in what An Shiraishi has to say, the girl who absolutely loves the way you, Kohane Azusawa, sing!
An: I understand how it's hard for you to believe in yourself, but it's easy for you to believe what I'm saying, right?
An: No matter what happens, I, An Shiraishi, will always believe in your ability to sing.
Kohane: An...
Kohane: I... I'll believe in you, An!
An: (That's right. I fulfilled my duties as her partner for once.)
An: (I'm glad that I did and also really happy about Kohane being able to show in that event who she really is.)
An: (But as amazing as STAY GOLDEN was, my mind's not really in a mood to celebrate.)
An: *Sigh* Why is that...?
An: Times like these...
An: (Haruka's the best person to ask about these things since she's gone through so much with her team... No, groupmates...)
An: (But she's probably super busy right now.)
An: Who else can I talk to...?
An: (Mizuki's gone today too... Come to think of it, Mizuki hasn't been to school in a while...)
An: (But it'd be kinda bad to dump this on someone when they're actually eager to go to school for a change...)
An: (So who else...?)

An: (That leaves Dad, Akito or Toya...)
An: (I did already talk to them once about helping Kohane have more confidence in herself.)
An: (And there's also...)

An: Hehe...
An: I have more people to talk to than I realized.
An: (I'll just try asking as many of them as I can about whatever it is that's bothering me.)
An: (But I don't really know how to describe this to someone right now...)
An: Okay, let's start with that...!
An: (I'll try to learn a little more about this hazy feeling and figure out a way to describe it better.)
An: (And I don't want to ruin all the progress Kohane's made since she really seems to believe in herself now.)
An: Oh, I still have plenty of time... I should go buy lunch while I can!

Side Story 2

Vivid Street
An: Thanks for singing with me, Kohane! That was so much fun!
An: (I feel a lot better now too.)
Kohane: No, I should be thanking you. It was nice to sing with you like this for a change!
An: Haha. Yeah, we have sort of only been moving as a unit lately.
An: But this might be good to do every now and then!
Kohane: Hehe. I'd like that.
An: But I think I've had my fill of fun for now. I should probably go home and help out.
An: Wanna come with, Kohane?
Kohane: Oh, I need to do my homework after this, so I'll be heading straight home.
An: Huh? Homework? That is pretty admirable of you, Kohane.
An: I usually just do it all in a hurry during breaks or right before class starts.
Kohane: An, you really shouldn't do that! You need to actually study more!
An: Okay, okay. Anyway, see you later!
Kohane: See you!
An: Phew...
An: (Okay, time to go home...)
???: <An...>
An: Huh?
An: Hey, Miku!
Miku: <I was hoping to ask you this a little sooner, but how are you doing...?>
Miku: <You seemed to be busy talking to and singing with Kohane. Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop either...>
An: No, it's okay. I should apologize for not noticing you sooner.
An: But... How much did you see?
Miku: <Everything from when you asked Kohane about going somewhere far away.>
An: Yeah, okay. It would've been pretty awkward to butt in there.
Miku: <Right. Not exactly the most opportune moment to interrupt your conversation.>
Miku: <But I'm glad that you seem to feel better now.>
An: Oh...
Miku: <And I feel better as a result too. Anyway, I'll be going now. See you later.>
An: W-Wait, Miku...!
An: She's gone...
An: (I wanted to keep asking her about this, but I guess I'll just have to wait.)
An: Alright, let's go home.
Weekend Garage
An: I'm home...
An's Father: Hm? Hey, you're home early.
An: Yup.
An's Father: ...
An's Father: Did you find the answer you were looking for?
An: Yeah, I think so.
An: Also, it's pretty rare to see no customers here...
An's Father: It is about time to start getting ready to switch to the bar menu.
An's Father: An, could you flip the sign to "Closed" for me? I'd like to get a head start on changing over.
An's Father: We can even talk about how things are going with you while we get ready.
An: Oh, okay...!

An's Father: Alright, help me set the tables.
An: Sure.
An: So, about what we talked about...
An: You know, that hazy feeling I was having? I think I finally figured out what was causing it.
An's Father: Oh, that...?
An: Yeah.
An: I want to be a partner that Kohane can respect and be proud of.
An: And I'll have to make sure Kohane stays excited about the way I sing.
An: It's like she took this huge leap forward during STAY GOLDEN, while I just stood by and watched.
An's Father: ...
An: And I became so worried about her losing interest in me as she climbed higher and higher...
An: That hazy feeling began welling up inside of me.
An's Father: I see.
An: Sorry for making you worry so much.
An's Father: Nonsense. You're young, so you should be trying to experience as many different things as you can.
An's Father: Does this mean you've figured out a way to deal with the way you're feeling?
An: Well...
An: Not exactly, but...
An: For now, "I just gotta keep going!"
An's Father: Haha. Diving in head first. I like that. It's very you.
An: I really appreciate you talking with me about this, Dad.
An's Father: Happy to help, as your father and as your role model.
An: Hehe. Thanks.
An: (That's right. For now, I just gotta keep going...)
An: (I might have to deal with something like this again in the future while I search for an answer...)
An: (But for now, this is all I can do.)
