Side Story 1


School SEKAI
Rin: Good luck, everyone!
Len: They seemed really happy.
Miku: They should be since they know what they want to do now.
KAITO: Honami must be so relieved...
KAITO: She must have felt so much pressure due to the other three having already figured out their aspirations...
MEIKO: The stress alone would've probably given you a stomach ulcer, KAITO.
KAITO: Oh... It hurts just thinking about it...
Luka: Hehe.
Luka: Actually, I wasn't all that worried about her.
MEIKO: Me neither. Though I did keep an eye out just in case...
KAITO: Oh, really...?
Rin: Wait, why weren't you guys worried? Because you believed she'd figure things out?
Luka: There's that, but most importantly, I know how strong she's become.
MEIKO: Taking time to figure out the right answer is one thing, but she'd never run away from a problem.
Miku: Yes, it's like she's a completely different person now compared to when they got their band back together.
KAITO: Now that you mention it, one of you told me something about how she was afraid of being disliked...
Len: But now, she's able to speak her mind and even puts her foot down when the situation calls for it.
Luka: Right. And despite being so worried about not knowing what her aspirations were, she was able to face that question head-on.
MEIKO: It's hard to say if she knows this herself, but the way she approached this problem played a big role.
MEIKO: Depending on how optimistically or pessimistically you see things, the stress you experience mentally and the answer you'll arrive upon will differ greatly.
Len: Wait, really?
KAITO: Think of it this way... Having your head hunched means only seeing the ground.
Rin: Yeah...
KAITO: Meanwhile, looking up and walking forward means seeing what's all around you, even the sky above...
KAITO: Which should allow you to see more possibilities and give you more avenues to walk down...
Len: I see. That makes a lot of sense.
Rin: Yeah, KAITO, you're so brilliant♪

Miku: Still, Luka, MEIKO, you're supposed to be her seniors, but what you said seems like something that would come from her mom.
Rin: Oh, I thought the same thing!
Luka & MEIKO: Her mom?

Miku: Hmm... I feel like a mother would feel more compelled to watch over her daughter...

Rin: Because you gave a really good explanation just now! I'm betting you can come up with another amazing thing to say♪
Miku: Yes, I'd like to hear what analogy you come up with as well.
KAITO: I mean...
Luka: Hehe. I can't wait to hear what he says, MEIKO.
MEIKO: Me neither. Lay it on us.

KAITO: Instead of mother and daughter...
KAITO: What if you were her teachers...?

Rin: Wow, KAITO, you're a genius...! "Teachers" fits so much better!
Len: Way to be quick on your feet.
KAITO: Do you think so...?
Luka: I'm impressed as well. I wasn't expecting you to come up with another analogy so quickly.
MEIKO: We might have to start by asking you to break down these sorts of problems moving forward.
KAITO: What...? No, you should try to figure them out yourself first.

Shindo: Thank you all for your patience. We're looking forward to seeing you perform today.
Saki: Thank you...! We're also looking forward to playing!
President of Solis Records: Haha. You certainly sound excited. Again, I apologize for making you do this today.
President of Solis Records: But I've genuinely been looking forward to your performance, so I'm hoping for something outstanding.
KAITO: <Rin, they'll see you if you poke your head out too far...>
Rin: <I wanna see if they're really gonna be okay! They seemed kinda nervous just now!>
Miku: <I know. But I think that's a good thing since it means they're alert.>
Luka: <And they practiced all they could just for today, so I'm sure they'll leave a good impression.>
MEIKO: <They do know how to deliver when it really counts.>
Len: <Yeah, that's something they're really good at.>
KAITO: <...! They're starting...>
Rin: <Hnnnng!!!>
KAITO: <Huh? Rin...? What are you doing...?>
Rin: <We're not supposed to interrupt them by cheering, right?! So, I'm trying to tell them telepathically!>
KAITO: <I see...>
Miku: <Then, I'll join you.>
KAITO: (They're doing well... Honami's also doing a good job of leading them through the part they were having trouble with during practice.)
Len: <They sound confident.>
Luka: <Yes, they're putting on a wonderful performance.>
KAITO: <They are...>

Rin: They played super duper well♪
KAITO: They did. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time...
Miku: Me too. It sort of felt like an actual show.
MEIKO: It did. Their performance really hit you in the face with how they feel.
Len: They must've been able to take all the frustration they'd been feeling lately and turn it into the fuel that powered this performance.
Rin: Yeah, definitely♪
Rin: Also, where are they? I wanna tell them how amazing their performance was!
Luka: They may be speaking with the president right now.
MEIKO: Probably. I'm sure they'll come right over when they're done.
Rin: No, I might forget all the things I wanna tell them! What do I do then?
Len: Geez. Alright, how about writing your thoughts down on the blackboard?
Rin: Oh, good idea! I won't miss anything as long as I write it all down♪
Miku: I think I'll join you...
Luka: Yes, I will as well since it might help them when they do their debrief.
KAITO: Then, let's make things easy for them by keeping comments on the same parts together...
Miku: Yes, let's do that.
Rin: Then, let's split this board into the first and second verses! And we can write about the chorus and bridge on... Oh, the one in the back!
Len: Alright, I think I'll start with the chorus.
Luka: I will as well. It'll be easier to write if we're not all at the same blackboard.
MEIKO: Hmm... What should we do? There's a lot I want to write about, but...
KAITO: Why don't we wait for a little bit to see what the others write...?
MEIKO: Oh, hang on... I think they're here.
Rin: What?! But I haven't finished writing everything down!
KAITO: ...
KAITO: For now, I'll go greet them...
MEIKO: I'll join you.
MEIKO: We'll try to buy some time for the rest of you.
Rin: You're the best, MEIKO! You too, KAITO!
KAITO: I'm not sure how much I'll be able to help...

MEIKO: Oh, we need to be careful not to say anything about their performance before the others finish writing.
KAITO: True... But I don't think we have to worry too much, considering how much they've been writing...
MEIKO: I suppose so. Anyway, let's go.
