Shimazaki Nobunaga (島﨑 信長) is a voice actor, singer and narrator from Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He is Cedric's voice actor. He is currently affiliated with Aoni Production.
Background[]
Nobunaga is the oldest of three siblings and was born in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture.
Nobunaga became interested about voice acting in second grade, after watching Gundam Wing and being impressed by Midorikawa Hikaru's portrayal of the protagonist Heero Yuy. In second year of high school, he participated in an audition organized by a talent agency, where he took part in singing, acting and swimsuit assessments. However, despite making it to the finals, he wasn't chosen, and ended up thinking that the entertainment industry isn't suitable for him after all. Nobunaga then started studying in order to enroll at a university and become a dentist, but after six months, realized the career wasn't for him, and that he should actually try becoming a voice actor.[1]
In 2007, he participated in 81 Produce's Seiyuu Audition, and although he made it to the finals with Eguchi Takuya, he wasn't chosen in the end. This then motivated him further, leading to him enrolling at Aoni Production's trainee school, and a year later after graduating, he became affiliated with them.
In 2009, he made his voice acting debut as Herbert Nielsen in Valkyria Chronicles. He received his first role as a main character in the anime Ano Natsu de Matteru, where he voiced the protagonist Kirishima Kaito.
On March 2, 2013, he won the Best Rookie Actor award at the 7th Seiyuu Awards. He later won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 15th Seiyuu Awards on March 6, 2021.
On January 1, 2023, he announced his marriage to a woman outside the industry.[2]

Personality & Hobbies[]
Nobunaga's hobbies include gaming, baking sweets, drinking herbal tea, and swimming. One of his special skills is building PCs.
In middle school, he joined his school's soft tennis club because of his love for The Prince of Tennis, leading to him eventually becoming the club's president. His favorite character from the series is Atobe Keigo. In high school, he played the tenor saxophone in the brass band and was also the vocalist of a local band.
He is close friends with Matsuoka Yoshitsugu and Toshiya Miyata.
Trivia[]
- Nobunaga was a member of the board game club in elementary school, and the student council president in middle school.
- His favorite subject in school was modern literature.
- Nobunaga wore glasses while still in school, and decided to start using contact lenses after graduating. He eventually got his eyesight fixed through a LASIK surgery as he couldn't use the contact lenses properly.
- On January 1, 2016, Nobunaga was appointed as an ambassador to promote Miyagi Prefecture.[3]
