Tanabe Rui (田辺 留依) is a voice actress from Tokyo, Japan. She is Asahina Mafuyu's voice actress. She is currently affiliated with Stay Luck.
Background[]
Rui was born in Tokyo, but raised in Saitama. Rui loved acting and imitating different dramas and stage performances ever since she was a child. She eventually decided to become a voice actress. Although she was an anime fan and remembers the first late-night anime she watched being Sumomomo, Momomo, what acted as the catalyst was her watching Macross Frontier and being impressed by it. Rui entered a voice actor training school at the age of 13.
In 2012, Rui participated in a voice actor audition hosted by STYLE CUBE. She passed and joined STYLE CUBE as a trainee. In July 2012, she got a promotion. She debuted as a voice actress in 2013 as a minor character in Shirokuma Cafe.
In 2017, she joined Stay Luck.
She debuted as a stage actress in 2018.

Personality & Hobbies[]
Rui's hobbies are painting[1], surfing the internet and playing FPS games. In addition to this, she was a member of her middle school's art club.
One of Rui's favorite foods is kani miso, which is referenced in both her Twitter and Instagram usernames.[2]
She particularly admires Korogi Satomi.[3]
Prior to being casted in Project SEKAI, Rui was already best friends with Ena's seiyuu Suzuki Minori. According to Minori, Rui is a person who is "good at listening to others".[4]

- Rui used to host a talk and variety program called Rui no Karamawari (るいのから回り) every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month for 73 episodes from July 31, 2018 till July 27, 2021. Suzuki Minori was also featured as guest on the show at one point.
