- "This man is destined to be a star!"
- ―Tenma Tsukasa
As a child, Tsukasa was less self-assured and more uncertain, frequently worrying about his sister Saki and her sickly condition. Ever since Tsukasa watched a show performed by his favorite theater troupe as a child, he has dreamed of becoming the star of a world-class show and making the world smile. After failing his audition to become a performer at the theme park Phoenix Wonderland, Tsukasa is hired by Emu to return the dilapidated Phoenix Wonderland Stage to its former glory with incredible performances.
Though he does not remember it, Tsukasa was motivated to become a star by his little sister's desire to watch shows every day, but unable to due to her illness. Because of her illness, he has years of experience playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Throughout the Wonderlands x Showtime Main Story, he remembers the reason behind his starly passion. For this reason, he fears going into the Wonderland SEKAI and dancing with his forgotten memories.
Tsukasa has orange-yellow eyes, short scruffy blonde hair with peach tips, and his signature proud smile. His casual outfit consists of a blazer with many shades of blue and a sunfish embroidered onto it. In his pre-upgraded "Dance! And! Sing!" card, he is seen wearing a white sweater with a braid going down the center, a light blue collared undershirt, a brown sports coat, dark blue pants and black shoes.
He wears his school uniform — a blue-white collared shirt with blue pants and a red-and-blue tie — with a yellow cardigan, like his sister Saki.
His show outfit consists of a short, white, high-collar coat with a two-layered cravat. The collar, lapel, sleeve cuffs, and sides of the coat are blue with a silver & gold rim. A frilled fabric, blue on the top and yellow on the inside, extends from his left side. He wears black pants and knee-high boots. In the official image for his unit outfit, he holds a large orange flag.
When he was little, he had much scruffier hair, and often wore a blue sweater with a white bear on it, a white undershirt and plaid grey shorts.
Tsukasa is a very confident and charismatic person, referring to himself as a present and upcoming 'star'. He has a notable habit of showing off, alongside a tendency to get caught up in the moment. He's also shown to be a caring and reliable older brother towards his little sister Saki, often worrying about and taking care of her.
Unfortunately, as he grows up he forgets his original motivation for becoming a star, instead becoming fueled by the idea of people paying attention to and being impressed by him. His newfound self-absorbance causes him trouble, blaming Nene for their first performance's failure, which leads to Rui harshly criticizing him.
Though he's well known for his eccentric behavior and loud personality, Tsukasa has also been noted as being an especially reliable and responsible person. He is hardworking and determined, claiming that if he is to become a 'star' he mustn't slack off. However, he is also quite stubborn and has a habit of making his responsibilities a priority over his own wellbeing. In the An Ode for the Pure of Heart event, Tsukasa falls ill and is unable to show up to his part-time job. Despite being told to rest, Tsukasa insists that he go anyway as is his responsibility, and is only stopped after he physically collapses at the door upon trying to leave the house.
Tenma (天馬) means "Pegasus".
Tsukasa (司) means "director, ruler".
A list of characters Tsukasa interacts with within the game.
Otori Emu: Fellow troupe member and a good friend. They're working together to restore the Phoenix Wonderland Stage to its former glory, but Tsukasa thinks she's weird and never listens to anyone. While he may get exhausted by her hyperactive antics, they bond over their mutual desire to make people smile with their shows.
Kusanagi Nene: Fellow group member and friend. Nene thinks he's an idiot, whilst Tsukasa calls her the troupe's diva. Tsukasa has respect for her abilities as an actor and singer. They share the same exhaustion over Emu's antics.
Kamishiro Rui: Fellow group member and friend. Rui considers him an actor most worthy of the stage, while Tsukasa thinks he's awesome but crazy. The two are a well-known "duo of weirdos" at school. Tsukasa proudly takes on any stunts and roles suggested by Rui, though often complains about them regardless.
Tenma Saki: Tsukasa's younger sister. Due to her poor constitution, Tsukasa always makes an effort to look after her, though Saki insists he worries about her too much. Tsukasa blames himself for not doing more to prevent Saki's friendships from becoming strained and is glad that they've managed to reconnect in the present. Tsukasa is often showing off in front of Saki and her friends, which often ends in chaos, much to Saki's embarrassment. Even now Tsukasa is still working hard to protect her friendships so they won't become strained again. At times, they both have a tendency to overwork themselves and falling sick.
Hoshino Ichika: One of Saki's childhood friends. Tsukasa is grateful that his sister has good people to take care of her when he can't. Though Ichika sees him as a reliable older brother, she also struggles to find good qualities that describe him.
Mochizuki Honami: One of Saki's childhood friends. Tsukasa trusts Honami and is thankful that she takes care of his sister.
Hinomori Shiho: One of Saki's childhood friends. Though Shiho finds him annoying and loud, she also respects him as a reliable brother.
Hinomori Shizuku: Tsukasa's childhood acquaintance. As Shiho and Saki were childhood friends, Tsukasa and Shizuku were also friends, just not as close as their siblings. They used to play in the park together.
Aoyagi Toya: An underclassman who looks up to Tsukasa. The two are childhood friends, as their parents knew each other through playing piano. During the KAMIYAMA HIGH FESTIVAL! event, Toya mentions that he considers Tsukasa his 'savior', as it was Tsukasa who told him it was okay to do the things he wanted, even if others disapproved. Tsukasa sees Toya as his little brother and calls him his #2 fan (#1 being Saki).
Shinonome Akito: Acquaintances who met through Toya. Akito thinks he and Rui are weird, and enjoys teasing them. After learning more about Tsukasa and Toya's relationship, Akito mentions that he owes him his thanks for allowing Akito and Toya to meet. Although he isn't appreciative of Akito's occasionally snarky attitude towards him, Tsukasa is thankful that he is there to support Toya.
Hatsune Miku: Tsukasa views Miku similarly to Emu; loud, obnoxious, confusing, and sometimes hard to be around. Like everybody she sees, Miku is excited whenever Tsukasa visits the Wonderland SEKAI, often running up and pouncing on him when she sees him. She and KAITO helped Tsukasa realize his true feelings and why he initially wanted to become a star.
KAITO: Tsukasa respects KAITO and looks up to him. He and Miku helped Tsukasa realize his true feelings and why he initially wanted to become a star. As well, KAITO's original 1* side story suggests that Tsukasa was a fan of KAITO before officially meeting him, as he showed Emu KAITO's concert and explained the significance of KAITO's iconic muffler to Emu when asked why he wears it.
