The "Legend" We Came to Know

Side Story 1

Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy - Class 1-A
Minori: Hm? You still have half a Salisbury steak left, Shiho. Are you saving the best for last?
Shiho: Yeah. Do you two prefer otherwise?
Kohane: I might be on your side. There's always a part of me that tells me to hold off eating what I like or what's good since it'll be gone before I know it.
Minori: Oh, I know exactly how you feel!
Minori: But... I can't help but eat them first because they're so yummy!
Minori: It's almost like I become totally powerless whenever I'm faced with my favorite things.
Minori: Even when I'm watching idol concerts, I try to sit quietly and absorb what I'm seeing, but I usually end up singing and cheering out loud without realizing it...!
Shiho: Okay, I sort of get the first part, but your landing was a little funny.
Kohane: Hehe. I think I understand what she's trying to say.
Kohane: (There's so much you can learn or gain by actually going to shows and events.)
Kohane: (But...)
Minori: Oh, that reminds me. You guys are trying to surpass that one event... RAD WEEKEND, right?
Minori: Does that mean you watch videos of that event as a team?
An: Yeah... There aren't any as far as I know.
Akito: Yeah. No cameras were allowed during RAD WEEKEND.
Kohane: (It's so sad that there aren't any videos of RAD WEEKEND out there...)
Kohane: (As a result, I've had to ask An and everyone else about what they witnessed...)
An: Yeah. This area has always had a lot of artists, and they put on events all the time.
An: But my dad and his friend organized this event called RAD WEEKEND and gathered a bunch of the best ones who really knew how to get a crowd going.
An: It was a mix of all sorts of genres, but everyone shared an absolute love of music.
An: It was the coolest event ever! It was so exciting I could barely breathe. I thought my heart was going to explode!
An: It was sort of like... When the four of us battled against Arata during that event, I guess?
An: As the night went on, one performer after another got up on stage and kept getting the crowd more and more pumped!
An: Everybody wanted to sing! Everybody wanted to hear more! The sky was the limit that night!
An: Everyone there was so excited and couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
An: It's something you can't really achieve by any normal means. That might be the best way to describe RAD WEEKEND... How's that?
Kohane: (An's even told me about everyone who participated in that event along with their set lists so that I have some sort of baseline reference.)
Kohane: (But I still have to rely on my imagination...)
Kohane: (It just isn't the same... I wasn't there to see RAD WEEKEND happen.)
Shiho: Kohane...? Is something bothering you?
Minori: You seem really concerned...
Kohane: I-It's nothing! Really!
Shiho: Well, if you say so...
Minori: Oh, Kohane, I happen to have three jellies on me right now. Want one?
Kohane: A-Are you sure, Minori? I wouldn't want to take away from your lunch.
Minori: Yes, I'm sure! After all, this is a special lunch!
Minori: Your choices are strawberry, orange and melon. Which would you like?
Kohane: I really appreciate it, but you should choose first since it's your lunch.
Minori: Alright, in that case... I've made my choice!
Shiho: My bet's on the melon one.
Kohane: Oh, I thought the same thing. Minori seems like a melon person.
Minori: C-Correct! How did you two know?
Kohane: Hehe. I had a feeling.
Shiho: Same.

Side Story 2

Kohane's Room
Kohane: <I'm practicing with Taiga then, so I'll head over to the park once we're done.>
Kohane: (I need to learn as much as I can from him today.)
Kohane: (In order to surpass RAD WEEKEND!)

Nagi: ♪————————!! ♪————————!!

An's Father: So, what did you think of RAD WEEKEND?
An's Father: Think you can surpass it...?
Kohane: We will... We absolutely will!
An's Father: Alright...
Kohane: Oh, I guess An already saw my reply.
Kohane: Hehe. I promise to do my best.
Kohane: (Not only that, I want to be able to teach everyone what I learn.)
Kohane: (But what are we gonna do today? It's always so hard to predict what he has in store for me.)
Kohane: (We'd be singing one day, listening to music and discussing lyrics the next...)
Kohane: (But he'll leave me completely puzzled some days since I won't really know how to apply what we're doing...)
Kohane: Oh, there was that one time I managed to figure out his little enigma.

Taiga: Hey, this place...
Taiga: Sorry, we'll be making a quick detour.
Kohane: O-Okay, I don't mind.
Taiga: Hey! Anyone home?
Eatery Owner: Well if it isn't Taiga! It's great to see that you're really back!
Taiga's Voice: Yeah, I got back a little while ago.
Taiga's Voice: Still, I can't believe you upped and moved to a better location. Your old place was gone, so I thought you'd gone out of business or something.
Eatery Owner: The live house next to my place also ended up moving, so I decided to do the same.
Eatery Owner: But fear not. My storefront may be new and shiny, but what I make is as good as ever.
Taiga's Voice: Yeah, I get what you mean. Things might look different on the outside, but nothing's changed on the inside.
Kohane: Nothing's changed on the inside...?
Kohane: (Oh, come to think of it...)
Kohane: (Taiga's been examining all the places we've been visiting in Vivid Street to see whether or not they've changed, and how much if they have.)
Kohane: (I guess it would be interesting to see how things change after being away for so long...)
Kohane: Hmm...
Kohane: (Which leads me to believe that there's a hidden message behind everything we've been doing.)
Taiga: Sorry about that. Thanks for letting me take that detour.
Kohane: ...
Taiga: Is something wrong?
Kohane: Huh?! I-I'm sorry... I was just thinking about what you two were talking about...
Taiga: Hm? What do you mean?
Kohane: The meaning behind what I've been doing with you.
Kohane: For example, I've been noticing how you've been taking an interest in how things have changed around here over the years...
Taiga: I see. Is that your interpretation...?
Kohane: Yes. But I apologize if you think I'm getting the wrong idea.
Taiga: Haha. I'd say not quite, but you're on the right track.
Kohane: I am?
Taiga: Yeah. Want me to tell you a little secret about what we've been doing so far?
Kohane: ...! Yes, please!
Taiga: Ever hear this before? They say that about 80% of the information we take in comes from what we see.
Kohane: Y-Yes, I think I've heard it on TV before...
Taiga: You can learn a lot from just people-watching, looking around the city, seeing all the colors and gauging how close or far away certain things are.
Taiga: But where does that leave our ears?
Kohane: O-Our ears...?
Taiga: Yeah. What can we learn from hearing?
Kohane: We can... Hear how people feel...?
Taiga: Yeah, exactly. That also includes how far away they are and which way they're facing.
Taiga: Still, our eyes still end up being more powerful than our ears. Which means there's only so much you can do with sound alone.
Taiga: But we're here to sing.
Taiga: So the question becomes, "How do you make people see through music?"
Kohane: See through music...?
Taiga: Yeah. More than that depending on the situation.
Taiga: The lyrics for a song don't always describe things that are grounded in reality. There are times when you have to imagine what's going on yourself.
Taiga: And it's not just about showing people that. You can also make them remember things from their past...
Kohane: R-Right...
Taiga: I'm sure you'll understand eventually.
Taiga: Anyway, my point is that just singing isn't enough. I want you to at least take that away from this...
Kohane: Okay...!
Kohane: Still... Seeing through music...?
Kohane: Alright! This just means I need to keep practicing to figure out what he really means by that!
