Nene's Room
Nene: ♪————
Nene: Okay, I think I have this song down. And I'm producing high notes much better than usual...
Nene: Which leaves my acting.
Nene: Alright... I'll try again from the top.
Nene: (First, the scene when I meet Rio for the first time...)
Nene: "U-Umm... Thank you for praising my singing."
Nene: "I really love to sing... I mean, it's how I communicate."
Nene: "No, it might be more than that... Unfortunately, I'm not very good at talking to other people..."
Nene: No, that didn't sound right...
Nene: (We've been practicing for the 30th Anniversary Show for a while now.)
Nene: (After seeing those two perform, I felt that I also should do everything I can. That I need to do my best...)
Nene: (Which is why I've been trying to do what Tsukasa did. I've been working on becoming the Cowardly Canary...)
Nene: (I watched the birds as they gathered on the trees in the park, and tried singing based on how I think they're feeling...)
Nene: (As a result, compared to when we first started, I've been able to immerse myself into my characters much better.)
Nene: But...

Nene: (I still don't think I can put on that kind of performance.)
Nene: (I'm having a hard time seeing myself bringing my character to life the way they did....)
Nene: But that's no reason to get myself down...
Nene: (We're supposed to start practicing scenes that include the Cowardly Canary tomorrow.)
Nene: (Am I really gonna be ready to put on even a half-decent performance by then...?)
Nene: No... Not as I currently am. So...
Nene: I'll need to start looking for some hints tomorrow during practice.
Nene: And by the time the curtains go up... I'll have my Cowardly Canary polished to perfection.
Nene: I'm gonna be as good as those two...
The next day
Phoenix Stage
Director: Alright, as I mentioned before... Starting today, we'll be working on the scenes where Rio meets the forest's various birds as he chases after the Phoenix.
Director: So, from the top. Where Rio first meets our canary.
Director: Begin!
Tsukasa: "No, I lost her again..."
Tsukasa: "At this rate, I'm never going to catch up to her, let alone capture her..."
Tsukasa: "*Sigh* If only I had wings like her..."
Tsukasa: "Huh? There's something on top of that tree over there."
Tsukasa: "Is that...?"
Emu: (This is it! The scene where Rio hears the canary sing for the very first time!)
Emu: (I'm so excited! I can't wait to see how Nene goes!)
Nene: (At this moment, I'm not aware that Rio is there...)
Nene: (Which is why I'm singing to my heart's content. I just need to sound like I'm enjoying myself.)
Nene: (So that Rio's feels genuinely moved...)
Nene: "♪————"
Emu: Wow! Her voice is so pretty...! It's like she's a real bird!
Rui: Yes, she's certainly captured a canary's singing voice nicely. Going through the trouble of breaking down her character seems to have been well worth it.
Sakurako: ...
Tsukasa: "Who's singing? Is it that bird...?"
Tsukasa: "What a beautiful voice... I'd like to hear it more up close..."
Nene: "♪————..."
Nene: "H-Huh?! Who's there...?!"
Tsukasa: "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you! I was just..."
Nene: "N-No, stay away...!"
Nene: "Oh... I-I'm sorry... But please... Go somewhere else..."
Nene: "I don't like humans... Because they're always mean to me..."
Director: Stop there.
Director: Rio. You overdid it there when the canary shooed you away.
Director: Yes, it is important to exaggerate in order to get your message across to the audience. However, there are times when that can work against you.
Tsukasa: Understood! Thank you!
Nene: (I thought Tsukasa did a really good job just now. It felt so real and yet there's still things to work on...)
Nene: (Which means... How much of an earful am I gonna get?)
Nene: (I was able to sing the first part the way I practiced it, but my acting still felt...)
Director: Next, Canary...
Director: Your acting wasn't bad...
Nene: What...?
Nene: R-Really...?!
Director: Yes, I thought you captured the Cowardly Canary's personality rather well.
Director: Just work on your breathing. As you gain a better understanding of what it means to be "cowardly", you should be able to speak and act in a more convincing fashion.
Nene: Th-Thank you very much...!
Director: Now, that is all regarding your acting...
Director: As for your singing, it simply won't do at this rate.
Nene: What...?
Director: Your character sings two songs in total during this show. The second one in particular plays a vital role in changing how Rio and the phoenix view one another.
Director: As your current rate, you're going to struggle to move the audience. At the moment, Kusanagi, your singing sticks out just that much.
Nene: My singing...sticks out...?
Director: Please research what the Cowardly Canary is supposed to sound like for this show while keeping in mind how your lines and songs are tied together.
Director: Now, our next scene has... The Great Eagle!
Omori: Present!
Nene: Oh...
Nene: (What did he mean by that...?)
Nene: (My singing sticks out...?)

Phoenix Stage
Emu: That was great, you guys! Our morning practice was so wonderhoy!
Tsukasa: Yes, it was. I thought the scenes with your canary were particularly notable, Nene!
Tsukasa: You've captured your character's namesake cowardly nature very well!
Emu: Yeah, I thought so too! The director always looks really grumpy, but he said your acting wasn't bad!
Rui: Staying up at night to practice seems to have been worth it.
Nene: ...
Emu: Nene...
Rui: Is what he said about your singing bothering you...?
Nene: I was really happy when he praised my acting...
Nene: I knew that my acting still needed a lot of work and had to do my best as I practiced moving forward...
Nene: But I felt that I was able to produce some results today because all of you helped and gave me pointers.
Nene: It felt that way until...
Nene: Until I was told that my singing just "simply won't do". That was a huge shock...
Tsukasa: Nene...
Emu: I bet it was...
Emu: You sang so beautifully, Nene... And you've been putting more effort into this show than any we've done before.
Nene: Yeah...
Nene: I think I was feeling more confident about my singing than I realized...
Nene: That might've been why I was expecting to receive more comments about my acting compared to my singing...
Nene: I mean, I practiced my singing. But if someone asked if I worked just as hard on it as I did with my acting, then probably not.
Nene: Even so, I'm practicing harder than I ever have for the real thing. But still...
Nene: Was I really that bad...?
Nene: (I've been worried ever since then...)
Nene: (Yes, I took a break for a while... But I still should have more stage experience than most people my age.)
Nene: (And yet...)
Nene: (With each performance, Tsukasa just keeps getting better and better. Before I realized it, we were pretty much on the same level.)
Nene: (But that also has to do with me having a lot of confidence in my singing...)
Sakurako: You've proven that you may be worthy of being our rivals. But you'll need to maintain this standard for your next show!
Nene: (Seiryuin specifically acknowledged me for my singing. I became convinced that I was good at something. That I had talent...)
Nene: (Even though my acting still leaves a lot to be desired, I was sure that my singing would more than allow me to keep up with those two...)
Nene: (Maybe a little too sure...)
Nene: (But...)
Director: As for your singing, it simply won't do at this rate.
Nene: (I have to do something...)
Nene: (Because if I don't, my canary won't come to life. Not only that...)
Nene: (My dream of becoming...)
Rui: Nene, are you okay?
Nene: ...
Nene: I don't wanna put on a half-baked performance...
Emu: What?
Nene: Emu's right. To me, singing means everything...
Nene: It was the one thing I thought I was good at. My only talent. So...
Nene: So...
Nene: I need to figure out something before the show...
Nene: I have to find a solution... A way to really sing like a canary...!
Tsukasa: Nene...
Nene: (My acting is at best average.)
Nene: (I'm keenly aware of that fact. Which is why I've been working so hard on other things to make up for it. Still...)
Nene: (My singing...)
Nene: (I don't wanna lose to anyone there. So...)
Nene: (I have to do everything I can.)
Nene: Sorry, you guys!
Emu: Wait, Nene, where are you going...?
Nene: E-Excuse me, sir... I apologize for disturbing you during your break! I was hoping to discuss what you told me just now...
Nene: When you said my singing "sticks out", what did you mean exactly?
Rui: She certainly seems motivated...
Tsukasa: Yes, she does.
Rui: However, it is nice to have someone comment on her singing.
Rui: To be honest, I don't really know how to criticize someone's singing since I'm not all that knowledgeable.
Tsukasa: That's understandable. If anything, Nene was essentially our troupe's singing instructor.
Emu: I mean, she's easily the best singer out of all of us!
Rui: Very true. But the Phoenix Stage places an emphasis on both singing and acting...
Rui: Unlike when we put on shows by ourselves, we have an opportunity to work with some experts.
Rui: It's a chance to learn things that we normally wouldn't.
Emu: Oh...
Rui: Nene stands to grow quite a bit through this show.
Emu: Yeah...
Emu: Nene has been practicing super-duper hard for this show.
Emu: Which means she's gonna sing really, really, reeaally amazing during the show and become an extra special Nene!
Tsukasa: Yes...
Tsukasa: We can only provide her with some words of encouragement, but let's help her however we can. Then...
Tsukasa: We can look forward to hearing just how much more beautiful the Cowardly Canary's birdsong will become!
Emu: Yeah!

Several dozen minutes later
Director: Okay, let's begin our afternoon practice.
Director: Let's pick up from where we left off. The scene by the lake...
Nene: (I'm glad I was able to talk with the director during our break.)
Nene: (Still...)
Director: Frankly, Kusanagi, you're just not seeing the big picture for this show.
Nene: The big picture...?
Director: As I mentioned earlier, your singing sticks out.
Director: If it were you singing alone up there on stage, Kusanagi, you would undoubtedly be able to put on a moving performance.
Director: However, it would not be as the Cowardly Canary...
Director: But as Nene Kusanagi.
Nene: ...
Director: Unless you change the way you sing, the scene where the canary sings will not be a scene from "The Happy Phoenix" but your own personal recital.
Nene: Wait, what you're saying is...
Nene: The way I sing could end up completely ruining our show...?
Director: Precisely.
Director: This isn't going to be an easy problem to solve since it will likely involve breaking some old habits.
Director: However, becoming aware of such habits is difficult. For as long as you remember, they were probably what your mind considered "normal" or "right".
Director: This process can take quite a toll... But if you wish to keep moving forward, you'll need to start by figuring out what your habits are.
Nene: (I never thought to see things from that sort of perspective until now. I always thought that my singing style suited me really well...)
Nene: (But...)
Director: However, becoming aware of such habits is difficult. For as long as you remember, they were probably what your mind considered "normal" or "right".
Nene: (If the way I sing now may ruin the show, then...)
Cast Members: Oh, they're starting. I can't wait to see the scene with the Great Eagle.
Cast Members: Yeah, me neither.
Nene: Huh...?
Omori: "Now, my friends, hear me sing. Your eyes shall glimmer with hope as I bestow upon you the courage to rise!"
Omori: "And dance up a storm! Until the gloomy shroud over this forest is lifted!"

Nene: Thank you for listening...
Nene: So, um... How did I do?
Yuka: Yes, well...

Nene: (But I'm ready to take on whatever she says... I wanna know exactly where I am as a singer right now.)
Nene: (I'm willing to accept anything that comes my way. I want to move forward...)
Yuka: You've become such a good singer.
Nene: What...?
Yuka: During your other show, the way you really let your emotions flow as you sang while setting aside all the technical stuff really left an impression on me.
Yuka: But from what I just heard, you've learned to balance those things out rather nicely.
Yuka: You've improved so much. You must've been working very hard...

Nene: (But...)

Yuka: Nene, your "habits" have to do with how your acting and singing are completely separate from one another.
Yuka: You can tell how someone's not used to performing in musicals since the way they sing feels very different from how they're acting...
Yuka: The way you sing is amplifying that effect, Nene.
Yuka: There's a uniquely beautiful quality to the way one can sing only as a child and it becomes really easy to rely on that.
Yuka: Unfortunately, it also becomes tempting to focus solely on maximizing said natural ability that you can develop a habit of neglecting your singing technique.
Yuka: As a result, that person's singing will often "stick out" and not quite mesh with their acting.
Nene: Oh, I see...
Director: Frankly, Kusanagi, you're just not seeing the big picture for this show.
Nene: (So that's what the director meant...)
Yuka: The first hurdle's always the toughest, but things will become much easier once you learn a few tricks. However...
Yuka: You have a list of other problems to also worry about, Nene.
Nene: Yes, I know...
Yuka: On the other hand, it also means there's nowhere else to go but up.
Nene: Huh...?
Yuka: Remember what I said? I'm going to cram absolutely everything I have to offer into your head.
Yuka: Everyone's jaws are going to be on the floor when they see that you fixed so many problems in such a short amount of time...!
Nene: (I've made my decision... I'm gonna learn everything I can from her and fix all my problems. I have to absorb everything she says...)
Nene: (For the sake of our show's success...!)

Rin: Hey, you guys! Did Nene ever say if she saw the video we made for her?!
Len: Yeah, I've been wondering that too! Did she reply after that?!
Emu: Yeah, she said she watched it! She also thanked us and said she's gonna try her best.
Rin: She did?! Thank goodness...!
Tsukasa: I couldn't be happier that she enjoyed it. Thank you for suggesting that we make that video for her, KAITO.
KAITO: I simply said what first came to mind after noticing that you were all feeling a little down.
KAITO: Also, I believe she ended up enjoying it so much because everyone here genuinely wished for her to succeed.
Emu: Hehe. Yeah, maybe...
Rui: But Nene has been a bit busier recently compared to normal. She's also been coming home rather late. I hope she isn't pushing herself too hard.
MEIKO: Oh, is that true? You mentioned before how you were worried about her having bags under her eyes... But now...
Tsukasa: Yes, she's come to practice a couple of times all covered in mud.
Tsukasa: She said Ms. Kazamatsuri's been teaching her... But what exactly? How does singing practice lead to that?
Emu: And Nene just keeps saying, "Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
Emu: I know she really wants to become a better singer, but I wish I could help her more...
Tsukasa: As I...
KAITO: I think you've helped her quite a bit already.
Tsukasa: What do you mean?
KAITO: I think I have a rough understanding of where Nene is right now emotionally...
KAITO: She didn't tell me what I'm about to say directly, so it's just what I'm imagining right now...
KAITO: But Nene received a nice boost of encouragement from the video message we all sent her.
KAITO: Which leads me to believe that she feels more motivated than ever to try her best.
KAITO: I'm sure our support means quite a lot to her.
Emu: Oh...
KAITO: Looking in from the outside, it may seem like she's pushing herself a little too hard. Which can be worrying...
KAITO: But I have a feeling that Nene's doing her absolute best right now to answer our call.

Phoenix Stage
Yuka: This place is packed. It really feels like a big anniversary show.
Seiichi: Yeah, it does. But this also feels so strange...
Seiichi: Who would've thought that the first show I'd see in Japan after all this time would be "The Happy Phoenix."
Yuka: Haha. Small world, huh?
Yuka: At the same time, the cast must be feeling the pressure. I mean, Amami, I have to think they know you're here.
Seiichi: Speak for yourself. Also...
Seiichi: Anyone who buckles under this sort of pressure really doesn't belong on stage in the first place.
Seiichi: All audience members are on equal footing. It doesn't matter if you're a king or a starving student.
Seiichi: We're no exception...
Seiichi: As such, I believe actors who lose sight of that fact don't belong on stage.
Yuka: Hehe. You and your stubborn stage philosophy. Still...
Yuka: I hope you're right.
Yuka: Break a leg, Nene.

Western Forest Swallow: "Hey, do any of you know about the really beautiful bird living deep within this forest?!"
Western Forest Swallow: "There's no one like her in the western forest. I wish there were a way for me to talk to her."
Eccentric Crow: "Do you speak of the phoenix? You poor fool. She may look ravishing, but her heart is made of ice..."
Featherbrained Duck: "Oh, Swallow, that's right. It's only been two days since you came to this forest... Or was it a week? I forget..."
Gossiping Starling: "Regardless, allow me to tell you all about her. She's..."
Birds: "♪————"
Yuka: (Their singing and acting is stupendous. I suppose they're nationally-renowned cast for a reason...)
Yuka: (But the meat of this show involves...)
Phoenix: "That creature over there looks unfamiliar. So small and helpless... How repulsive."
Phoenix: "It must be a human. A child at that."
Phoenix: "My hate for it knows no bounds."
Phoenix: "♪————"
Yuka: (She was so little when I performed alongside her, but she definitely had this spark... Still, I never thought that she'd blossom like this so soon...!)
Yuka: (There's no question that she's the future of show business. I can see why Nene was so anxious...)
Yuka: (But you also have some tricks up your sleeve now...)
Yuka: (So, show me what you've got!)
Rio: "Wait, please... Phoenix!"
Rui: The phoenix leaves Rio far behind and them becoming separated marks the end of the first act...
Emu: Yeah, which means...
Emu: The next scene's where Nene and Tsukasa meet for the very first time! I can't wait to hear her sing!
Rui: Yes, me neither.
Nene: ...
Rui: (She's more focused that usual. We probably shouldn't do anything to break her concentration.)
Rui: (In any case, we shall see what she's gained over this short period and how she performs...)
Rui: We'll be on the edge of our seats...
Rio: "No, I lost her again..."
Rio: "At this rate, I'm never going to catch up to her, let alone capture her..."
Rio: "*Sigh* If only I had wings like her..."
Emu: Oh, that's Nene's cue...
Rui: (The Cowardly Canary's personality involves "speaking through song". Thus, her first line on stage it not spoken but sung.)
Rui: (Starting by humming. Then, she slowly transitions to singing...)
Rui: (Which reaches Rio's ears...)
Cowardly Canary: "♪————"
Emu: She sounds totally different compared to before...!
Rui: Yes, her tone's much lower.
Rui: (It's normal for anyone to believe that a canary would sing in a high pitch based on its natural size.)
Rui: (Nene initially went with that image during our practices it seems.)
Rui: (But she's lowered her tone... Is it to conserve stamina? She likely won't have any trouble getting through this song now...)
Rio: "Who's singing? Is it that bird...?"
Rio: "What a beautiful voice... I'd like to hear it more up close..."
Cowardly Canary: "♪————..."
Cowardly Canary: "H-Huh?! Who's there...?!"
Rui: That felt...
Emu: How did she do that? Her line matched her singing so perfectly just now!
Rui: Yes, it did...
Rui: So, when the director said her singing "sticks out", he meant that her acting and singing felt completely disconnected from one another.
Rui: She's thrown aside singing in a high pitch like a real bird and went with something closer to her regular voice.
Rui: A brave decision on her part... As a result, her singing and acting are meshing together much nicer compared to when she was trying to "become a canary".
Rui: Now, she sounds like a real canary that "speaks through song".
Emu: Yeah...
Emu: I really like this version of her... And she looks like she's having so much fun...
Emu: This is Nene's Cowardly Canary...
Cowardly Canary: "U-Umm... Thank you for praising my singing."
Cowardly Canary: "I really love to sing... I mean, it's how I communicate."
Cowardly Canary: "No, it might be more than that... Unfortunately, I'm not very good at talking to other people..."
Cowardly Canary: "But since you said that you enjoyed my song so much, I wouldn't mind singing another one for you..."
Cowardly Canary: "It's been so long since someone last heard me sing..."
Yuka: (Good. Her training seems to be paying off...)
Yuka: (If she can keep this up, that other scene should be...)

Rio: "Phoenix...?"
Rio: "Wh-Why did you come back...?"
Rui: (Here comes the climax... Rio thought he'd never see the phoenix again after she dropped a feather for him to use to recover.)
Rui: (But his mother only has until sunset, which is just moments away. The phoenix appearing before Rio once more out of her own volition means...)
Phoenix: "It is true that I wished to continue living. However, I also enjoyed these past few days we spent together..."
Rio: "You enjoyed spending time with me...?"
Phoenix: "No, that is not quite correct... To be more precise, I enjoyed laughing and frolicking with you."
Phoenix: "However, if you lose your mother, that smile of yours will surely vanish along with her. If that were to happen..."
Phoenix: "I would deeply regret not giving you my heart."
Rio: "Phoenix..."
Phoenix: "Which is why... I have decided that it is not worth living if it means you will no longer smile."
Phoenix: "So, take this knife... Plunge it into me and take my heart."
Rio: "B-But... I... Um..."
Phoenix: "Hehe... You truly are a weak, little coward."
Phoenix: "However, I shall leave you with some parting words."
Phoenix: "Becoming friends with you filled me with so much joy..."
Rio: "...!"
Rio: "Wh-Why...? Really? Now...?"
Rio: "What am I supposed to do...?! How do you expect me to...?!"
Emu: I can feel Rio's pain wrapping itself around my heart...
Rui: Me too... Seiryuin's also putting on a tremendous performance. Her voice and facial expressions are so captivating...
Rui: (These two really are something else. They're the protagonists in every sense of the word.)
Rui: (However, one person must bring them together.)
Rui: (This is a key moment in the story... A perfect performance will be required to compel these two to come to an agreement.)
Rui: (So, we shall see how this plays out...)
Rio: "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Phoenix..."
Rio: "For my mom's sake... I... I...!"
Cowardly Canary: "W-Wait...!"
Cowardly Canary: "Please, wait...! Stop, you two...!"
Phoenix: "Fear not, Rio..."
Phoenix: "I do not fear death for I am a majestic phoenix..."
Cowardly Canary: "..."
Cowardly Canary: "I... I have to tell them... They don't need a phoenix's heart to cure Rio's mother of her curse..."
Cowardly Canary: "But..."
Cowardly Canary: "My voice... I'm so scared..."
Witch: "So, you have figured out my secret... But if you tell those two, your life is forfeit!"
Cowardly Canary: "I-If I tell them... She'll take my life... But... But..."
Cowardly Canary: "Rio said that he likes my singing... He became friends with me even though I'm afraid of just about everything..."
Cowardly Canary: "So, I... I don't want him to feel sad... I don't want him to stab Phoenix... I don't want him to stab his friend...!"
Cowardly Canary: "I have to stop them... I'll never forgive myself if I don't."
Cowardly Canary: "But just telling them isn't going to work... No, I can sing to them..."
Cowardly Canary: "With this song!"
Cowardly Canary: "♪————~~!!!"
Emu: Nene...!
Rui: (Her voice... It's going straight for my heart as it leaves her mouth, and I can feel her desperation so clearly...)
Rui: I had no idea she could sing like this...
Yuka: (She's overcome all of the walls she ran into during our training...)
Yuka: (Youth really is a scary thing...)
Rio: "This song...!"
Phoenix: "This must be that canary... I believe she is trying to tell us something..."
Phoenix: "What...? The heart of a phoenix is not required to dispel the curse that has been placed on Rio's mother...?"
Phoenix: "Instead, we must defeat the witch...?!"
Rio: "R-Really...?"
Rio: "The witch had me fooled this whole time...?"
Phoenix: "Rio..."
Rio: "But..."
Rio: "Phoenix, this means I don't have to use this knife anymore."
Rio: "Thank goodness... I'm so relieved..."
Phoenix: "..."
Phoenix: "Oh, for the love of... Why are you crying? Quickly now. Stand up."
Rio: "Wait, what...?"
Phoenix: "Time is of the essence for the sun will be setting soon. We must hurry and defeat the witch before then."
Phoenix: "I shall follow you... She will not be easy to fall, we should be able to win if we fight together."
Phoenix: "Because we are friends..."
Yuka: (The entire audience has their attention focused on the stage...)
Yuka: (They even seem overcome with relief that Rio and the phoenix were able to find a solution...)
Yuka: (Those two obviously did a magnificent job of immersing us into the story, but...)
Cowardly Canary: "Thank goodness..."
Cowardly Canary: "I'm so glad they heard my song..."

Emu: Thank you for coming to see the show!
Tsukasa: We hope to see you again soon!
Guest: Oh, the cast members are thanking us. It must be because this is the anniversary show. I still can't believe how good it was!
Guest: I know, right?! The scene at the end with Rio and the phoenix totally blew me away. I felt so much empathy for them...
Rui: The audience seems to have enjoyed our show very much...
Nene: Yeah, and everyone did a really good job. I think we put on a great performance.
Nene: I was also able to give it everything I had.
Emu: Your singing was sooo amazing, Nene! My heart went all bang-zoom-kapow and I...!
???: Yes. You've improved quite a lot it seems.
Nene: Huh...?
Sakurako: Nicely done. It was a wonderful performance.
Nene: Seiryuin...
Sakurako: Compared to before, your singing and acting were like night and day.
Sakurako: I never thought that you could improve so quickly in such a short period.
Nene: This was only possible because you went out of your way to contact Ms. Kazamatsuri for me. Otherwise, well...
Sakurako: Yes, asking her to help you seems to have been well worth it.
Nene: I really genuinely thought that we put on an amazing show, and it was nice to be able to see what I was missing. As a result, I was able to give it absolutely everything I had today.
Nene: Obviously, Seiryuin, I'm still nowhere near your level... But I'm really glad that I was given this chance.
Nene: So, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to grow.
Rui: Nene...
Sakurako: Yes, well... Let's just say that you owe me one now.
Sakurako: However...
Sakurako: I disagree with your statement regarding you not being at my level.
Nene: What...?
Sakurako: Naturally, this show revolved around Rio and myself. After all, we are the main characters.
Sakurako: However... Your singing and acting gave us a massive boost.
Nene: My singing and acting...?
Sakurako: Yes. The scene where Rio hesitates to plunge his dagger into the phoenix...
Sakurako: We were clearly one with the audience.
Emu: One with the audience...
Rui: Yes, that scene was so immersive that those watching became a part of it. Almost as though we and the audience were in lockstep with the protagonists.
Rui: And what allowed that to happen was the Cowardly Canary's song.
Nene: My song...?
Sakurako: Your song was so moving that it brought the entire venue together as one.
Sakurako: As such, I disagree with your earlier statement.
Sakurako: Goodness, what am I saying? Let's just say you owe me for this too.
Nene: Seiryuin...
Sakurako: Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you need to stop undermining yourself so much. That'll only cut off your potential. Once you understand that...
Sakurako: I dare you to rise. To my level.
Nene: Oh...
Sakurako: Now, Wonderlands×Showtime, if you'll excuse me...
Tsukasa: Did you hear that, Nene?! Sakurako Seiryuin just gave you a glowing review!
Emu: She said that your song made our show what it is! I'm so happy for you!
Nene: Thanks...
Nene: I really couldn't have done this without her.
Yuka: Did Sakurako already leave? I didn't get a chance to congratulate her!
Nene: Ms. Kazamatsuri...?!
Tsukasa: *Gasp* You being here means...
Tsukasa: I-I-I-I-I-Is Mr. Amami also present here with you right now at this very moment?!?!
Yuka: Hehe. As energetic as ever, I see.
Nene: I'm sorry he's so obnoxious...
Yuka: I hardly consider that a bad thing. I mean, he projects his voice so well.
Yuka: But I do need to apologize. Seiichi just ran off saying that he had to use his quick pass for something called...the "fish coaster"?
Tsukasa: Oh—
Tsukasa: I see... That's unfortunate...
Emu: Mr. Amami's going on the fish coaster...?!
Rui: A world-famous star riding the fish coaster... That's quite an image.
Yuka: Anyway, enough about Seiichi...
Yuka: Nene, congratulations on your performance. I'm so glad all that training paid off!
Nene: Thank you very much. You taught me so much, Ms. Kazamatsuri...
Nene: And I was able to do my best as a result. It really felt like I grew and made some progress...
Yuka: Hehe. That's great to hear! But...
Yuka: You can't be satisfied with just this.
Nene: ...!
Yuka: All I did was teach you a few things, Nene. We weren't able to take a deeper dive because we were so short on time.
Yuka: Yes, I taught you things that took me a very long time to learn. But that's just the tip of the iceberg...
Yuka: What you need to do moving forward is meet even more new people, learn as much as you can and use what you experience to grow even further.
Nene: To grow even further...
Yuka: That's right. So, you can't stop here. Like I said before, Nene, you have nowhere to go but up.
Yuka: I'll be looking forward to seeing just how much you've grown the next time we meet!
Nene: Ms. Kazamatsuri...
Nene: Thank you... By the time we meet next... I promise to have grown even more.
Nene: So, thank you very much... I really appreciate what you did for me this time around!

Nene: *Sigh* This area's all cleaned up now.
Nene: Tsukasa, how's your side going?
Tsukasa: Swimmingly! We should be done once I carry this ladder over!
Nene: Okay. Then, lemme help since it looks pretty heavy.
Tsukasa: Ah, excellent. Much appreciated!
Nene: I know I say this every time, but it's always sad to see all the props and stuff get put away. It feels like this show's really over, you know...?
Tsukasa: Yes, you're right. It's sad to see this show in particular end since it was a joint production.
Tsukasa: We may work together again someday, but it likely won't exactly be with the same group of people...
Nene: Yeah, but...
Nene: This show made me want to try performing with other people in different places.
Nene: Especially since Ms. Kazamatsuri said that I should and how I stand to grow from those experiences. I really wanna make that happen...
Nene: Without this show, I never would've realized just how much work I still needed or figured out what my habits were. And above all else, I wouldn't have gotten a chance to learn from Ms. Kazamatsuri.
Tsukasa: Yes, I have to agree with you there...
Nene: Yeah, so... I see now just how much time I've been wasting.
Nene: In hindsight, I let way too many opportunities to learn and grow go...
Nene: Which is why I wanna start doing more like you, Tsukasa. I'm gonna start attending workshops, appearing in shows with other troupes and...
Nene: See more of the world we're in.
Tsukasa: Nene...
Nene: I'm gonna keep experiencing new things, keep growing...
Nene: And make my dream of becoming a world-class musical actress come true.
Tsukasa: I see...
Tsukasa: I know exactly how you feel. I too wish to stand on top of this world of ours!
Tsukasa: So, let us both do our best as we keep aiming for the top!
Nene: Yeah, let's do it!
Emu: Nene and Tsukasa sound so optimistic about the future...
Rui: This show must've given them both a nice push.
Rui: I've known Nene for quite a while now, but I'd never seen her shine on stage like that before...
Emu: Me neither. Nene's singing and Tsukasa's acting were both so amazing...
Emu: They sparkled so much...
Rui: Emu...
Rui: When the time comes for them to say that they wish to leave the Wonder Stage, will you try to follow in their footsteps?
Emu: Nope.
Emu: Because my dream is to protect Grandpa's amusement park and keep it the way it is.
Emu: And make a place where everyone smiles!
Rui: ... Yes, I see...
Rui: (Emu has been saying that ever since we all met her, and has been unbending when it comes to this matter...)
Rui: (Which is why we've been able to support her in her endeavors.)
Rui: (But...)
Rui: (Emu's dream... All our dreams... The only person who thinks we can make them come true together is...)
Emu: We should hurry and get this all cleaned up before Nene and the others all go home without us!
Rui: Yes, let's...
Rui: (My ego wishes for that...)
Rui: (But is it right for me to do so...?)
Rui: (I should discuss this with "them".)
Rui: (To see what is the best path forward for us... For Wonderlands×Showtime.)
